"I wish I could leave 0 stars. I’m a nurse, and let me tell you… never in my life have I had such a troubling experience. During my first visit he refused me local anesthetic for a needlessly painful procedure. I had pulled information from studies demonstrating that women often found this procedure painful, but the pain could be mitigated easily. He was adamant that I wouldn’t be medicated. He told me it would be painful, but to scream if I had to. He elicited the scream he wanted, and then told me, and I quote, I had “a lovely screaming voice.” You can’t make this up. This is after a long and rambling speech about politics and the state of the world. It was bizarre. It was off kilter. There was an atmosphere that was more than just medical. I knew I shouldn’t go back after my first visit. Like many women, however, I second guessed my gut feelings and returned. I thought it couldn’t be worse than that first visit. I was wrong. I went back to him for my check up and without warning he SHOVED something in my rectum. It felt like a digit, but I can’t say for sure. I can’t describe the pain. It was excruciating. If his goal was to make me scream, he overshot his mark because I couldn’t even breathe. It was so intense that it triggered a long wave of contractions (I was heavily pregnant at the time). After he left the room I had to lay on the table, trying to catch my breath and waiting for the contractions to subside. This wasn’t normal. In no way was it normal. You don’t want to accuse someone of perversion, but what else could it have been? He intentionally inflicted pain, full stop. When I told my OB, who was his college, she was troubled. I asked if I should report him, and she told me not to go back to him and he’d be retiring soon. This was more than two years ago, and he practices still. I’m sure many people have had pleasant experiences with him, but I have seen a few other reviews saying they experienced unnecessary pain as well. One woman believes he intentionally caused trauma to her clitoris, and this would be consistent with the experience I had. Obviously, predators don’t prey on everyone, else they’d be caught. Please do not go to this man. I regret trusting that he was about to retire, and I’m sorry that other women may have experienced this side of him as well."
