"This guy was super off-putting from the start. I have always had heavy, irregular periods. I didn’t grow up knowing it wasn’t normal so I wanted to discuss this with an obgyn. As per usual he asked about birth control. I explained I didn’t like the way I felt on it and it simply makes me uncomfortable. He went on a rant about the history of birth control. I mean all of the stages of it throughout medical history. I had to tell him I have nothing against it it’s just not for me. When I told him how long my periods have been like this he seemed almost disgusted that I’ve waited this long. Instead of being sympathetic or even just understanding about my periods being this way for this long he asked me, “You’ve been having this problem for what… nine years? Why have you waited nine years to do something about this?” I’ve been on birth control previously to try and regulate it and the issue never resolved. I was a kid, for Christ sake. I took ibuprofen and moved on with my life. Now that I’m going to be married- I want to start a family. I don’t want this to make it hard for me to conceive. You think this would be something he hears a lot and understands. However he still acted in a way that made me feel so small when I gave any answer. When I made a comment about my periods being heavy he even went on to say, “Don’t you think this will be a problem in early marriage?” I can’t believe I sat there and silently looked at him instead of leaving the building. I’m still kicking myself that I didn’t. I tried to give him a chance but even when he said something remotely reassuring it didn’t come across as sincere in the slightest. God bless the girl that did my blood work because if she hadn’t made me laugh I was going to cry all the way down to my car."

"The staff is ok. But it takes forever to get anything done. The Dr made SEVERAL comments about my weight. He even went as far to say that "they, at Cullman hospital" would not be able to do surgery on me because of my weight. Yet in the next sentence, said that I should go see a general surgeon for my problem... He even went as far as to tell me my eating habits, and WOULD NOT LISTEN when I tried to tell him what mine were and that I have issues with not being able to eat routinely. He honestly seemed more worried about that than the issue I was ACTUALLY seeing him about. Just find better."

"Do not use this Dr! I'm honestly not sure how he's even a doctor. When I was pregnant with my daughter after dna testing and ultrasounds he kept telling me I was having a boy and even announced it's a boy when my daughter was delivered. All he wants to say when you go see him for anything is that you need to lose weight. I have a metabolic disorder where I can't lose weight without diabetic medicine. My regular Dr and Richards both knew this yet he told me that my metabolic disorder wasn't the problem and after I told him that he told me maybe I should skip a few meals a day. Worst doctor I've ever had! Do not trust him with your healthcare!"

"First time mom at 18 and Dr Richard delivered my baby by c section due to complications. THE BEST doctor, took care of me so well. As a Hispanic nowadays, I didn’t see no shady things or anything against me. My c section was good and healed good. he checked on me a lot in the hospital after birth and even when I was pregnant and always got down to the point of what was going on because i was at high risk for a lot of things! . Love the staff and Dr Richard! He’s definitely delivering all my babies if I choose to have more!"
