"Beautiful park, very peaceful and well laid out. Thank you for honoring our history."
"Interesting piece of American history. It shocks me that this was not publicized more and made into a larger protected area instead of being surrounded by neighborhoods. There is no parking, just park on the side of the road in front of the sign. Follow the trail up the somewhat steep hill that leads you to the fort's remnants. A few informational signs show you what the area was in the Civil War and who was in charge and so forth. Being as close to I-10 as this is, it should have been made into a larger park instead of housing."
"Nice little hike. Hills are steep in areas so be prepared. Literally no parking. Just park on the side of the road next to the sign. You really have to watch out for the spot. While reading the signs and surveying the area; I could see how so few soldiers were able to fend off an entire army. The high grounds and vantage points are obvious from a defensive standpoint. You can spot the waterways where ships would have come in and that ads to the scenery and understanding of why it's location was key."
