"Our family strolled through. Awe inspiring memorial. Really touching place to visit and teach our children about history. I'm also glad when the park was designed they intended it to be regularly used, as there was even a space for our kids to run around while still being respectful of the memorial. "I spotted the memorial on my way past and stopped to check it out. Id grown uphearing stories from families and friends about the war. Like the rest of my generation, I also grew up watching M.A.S.H. which combined the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The memorial could use some upkeep, but since I only saw one "walker" on the nature path during my time there, I understand that resources may have been otherwise allocated. There are touches throughout to make this memorial worth a visit beyond the virtue of remembering their sacrifice: A Vietnam era helicopter stands among a copse of trees, plaques are erected around an American flag commemorating other conflicts and park features are lovely throughout with shaded benches and wooden bridges."
