"Would be better if you could tour the inside all you can do is walk up to it and read a faded informational sheet."
"What a beautiful, Period built then later restored to its original form two story house. Like a lot of the structures along the trace, I wish they had some open range supervised, of course, to let us tour and see the insides of these amazing structures, read more about the history and the life. The Natchez trace Parkway is a beautiful drive highly recommended! The history, the culture, it’s an amazing drive to take. Be sure to check out downtown Natchez As you will read because of its location and status, it was spared from tearing down and burning of the downtown historical district, leaving it pretty much the way it was it was great, just to drive through and see all the old buildings and architecture followed by reading up on the rich history that took place there"
"It's cool to see an old part of history still standing. The sign in front of the house is completely illegible, but I believe it once said what is just on the main sign when you come in."
"Built in 1817 by Mr and Mrs Gordon as Mr Gordon was a ferry operator and was away on military expedition during the build. He passed just after completion but she lived there until 1859. It's amazing it still stands. Great history and craftsmanship. Wish you could go inside."
"Very short walk to see the outside of the house.. pickup a flyer before going to see the layout of the inside, since it is not open to the public at this time. Less than a 1/2 mile hike to waters edge to see where ferry was, but currently underwater and blocked off due to flooding."
