Reviews of Laurel at Dry Creek Apartments
"I was new to Huntsville and moved into Laurel at Dry Creek. The apartments look nice inside, but after you move in you will realize you can hear everything. The walls were pretty hollow in the apartment I was in. It’s a gated community accept the gates never work. I would leave in the morning and couldn’t get out of the gate on Research PKWY. This happened a few times with people lined up and then having to back up to go to another gate that would open. Trash piles up out by the dumpster quite a bit. The last month I was in the apartment a new management company took over and they were trying to charge me a full months rent, when my last month was suppose to be prorated for part of the month. They kept telling me they were going to fix it and then told me it was out of their hands because it was a totally different company that handled billing tenants. On top of that the new manager of the apartments went into my apartment while I was still paying on it and took paper work that I needed out of my apartment. When we went up front and questioned it, he told us he took it, because he didn’t know which apartment were vacant and which were not. I wouldn’t recommend this place for the working class. It was in a convenient location, but that’s it. Maybe it will get better."
"Absolutely the worst place to live and worst experiences. Great place to live if you want to be over charged for water $100 a month for water!!! just crazy when youre not even home enough to use $100 worth of water just to find out the property had a leak and decided to illegally charge us to make up for what they lost. oh and lets not talk about how the pool yall all used during the summer didnt effeicently have chlorine and lets not talk about how they turned the heaters off to the pool because it was to expensive to keep it on. My ice maker hasnt worked since we moved in and were told by maintenance themselves they couldnt order the part it was to expensive. our shower was supposed to be replaced fully 2 weeks after we moved in they somehow got sent to the wrong apartment . my microwave has never had a light. oh and the gates that never work and imagine getting off of work at 10:30 get home and you cant even get in and have to drive all the way around just to get in. Constantly dealing with neighbors having music up loud to the point you can hear it even over your own tv and child playing and constantly hearing couples scream and fight with eachother the smell of weed is ridiculous when it’s supposed to be a smoke free property. when we spoke with macey to try to terminate our lease regarding issues we had we were still being told wed have a termination fee by collin as well when we we’re literally being illegally charged for water and have had nothing but issues and considering how much we all pay to live here no one should have issues. I’ve decided to just no longer communicate with anyone and let our lawyer handle it when our lease is up. hopefully everyone else has had a better experience."
"I lived at the Laurel from April 2022-May 2023. I was one of the first few residents to live here and started in a two bedroom in Building 1000 and ended up staying one month in Building 2000. I will start by saying that I was there before the pool completion, both gates, package rooms and all that so I got to see the complex when there weee minimal amour of people there. I think the property is beautiful and the side I stayed on was relatively quiet. Maintenance was slow but I never really needed anything urgently except the time my internet was out for a week. It was a great location for my work as I was 15 minutes from work and 15 minutes from downtown and 5-10 minutes from shops. I will make a special nots for shout out Mike McClelland. If he’s still there they need to keep him! He was there from the beginning and knew more than even the property managers a lot of the time. He assisted me from move in to move out. Things to note: 1. The highway noise can be loud so make sure you’re not near it if bothers you. 2. There are certain areas that people feel that they don’t have to clean up after their pets. Call those people out/take pictures everytime and send it in. 3. Pool area is not that big so it’s mostly packed during the weekends. 4. You can tell some buildings were put up quickly and are cheaply made. I could hear my upstairs neighbor in building one but not building two."
"We are loving life at Laurel at Dry Creek! The staff is wonderful, they really make you feel at home and are always so helpful. The facilities and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. They are super pet friendly, with clean, well kept dog parks, a doggy spa and plenty of walking trails. The club house/pool areas are beautiful (I'd like to move in there) and have so many fun activities like a pool table, corn hole, cabanas, ping pong, wide screen TV for watching FSU games heehee, grills, hammocks, and a weight/workout room. We have two teenage boys, so this has been perfect for them to stay active. We feel safe here, our neighbors are the best and the location is convenient to most everything. I would highly recommend Laurel at Dry Creek!"
"Clean and up-to-date apartments. I have not had any safety issues nor concerns. Neighbors I have met either at the pool and the egg grill have all been nice! The biggest con is that I can hear my upstairs neighbor and their dog walking/running afternoon and night. I do not have any complaints with the staff. Kate is great. I have been here for about 3 months and I’d recommend."
