"I've been going to eye doctors for 20+ years and was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2007. I have always had vision insurance that paid 100% minus a 20 - 25 dollar copay. The entire 16 years that I have had diabetes, I have never had to pay a dime out of pocket except for the copay. Dr. Nichols is nice and seems to be very competent HOWEVER one of the women that she has working at the front desk is horrible and condescending and she only talks and listens to nothing. When she asked for my medical insurance on top of my vision insurance I told her that my Medical insurance was a very high deductible insurance and paid nothing until I reached the $6,800 deductible and also told her that my vision insurance had always paid 100% of my yearly exams. Here is where the doesn't listen part comes in. Despite me telling her this AT LEAST 4 times, they still billed my Medical Insurance as primary and like I told them my health insurance didn't pay a dime. I received 2 statements from them with the first in June of 2023 saying I owed $229.00 which I called about to see why I owed them anything, and this woman denied any knowledge of the statement. The second statement came around Oct 3rd with the words in all cap and red font saying "FINAL NOTICE" like I was refusing to pay a bill I never got. This second statement ended up with me being billed for $158.18, with line items showing what my Medical Insurance paid, but not a single line about anything being submitted to my vision insurance. When I complained to the woman she didn't want to hear anything I had to say and just started talking over me telling me she is not allowed to bill these items to my Vision insurance, but had NO explanation why they are the only provider to make this claim and despite me telling her that my medical conditions have not changed over the last 16 years and that I had never once been billed for anything on my annual exams. I get the feeling that they are trying to get as much money as possible and that they must get paid more for medical claims than vision claims. So at this point I do not trust them at all and told the woman I would pay the bill at the cost of them losing a patient. After speaking with this horrible woman, I called another provider in my area and explained the same thing to them. They said, no problem, we bill everything to your vision insurance as primary and will bill anything else to the medical as secondary. This woman raised some red flags with me on my first appointment and felt like she wasn't listening to me and would talk over me when I was trying to tell her something. She has a passive aggressive attitude, smiling at you while at the same time being condescending I went back in June of 2023 for a follow up and told this woman I had new insurance and she asked me for the information, and I pulled my insurance card and gave it to her and she just tossed on her desk and said "That doesn't do me any good", she said she needed something with phone numbers and I said the card was all I got from them, then asked don't you have numbers for all the insurance carriers that you take to which I got no answer. If Dr. Nichols ever reads this review I hope she realizes she has a person that is hurting her business. Unless I hear that this woman has been let go, I'll always tell people not to go there, and I will never recommend her business after dealing with this horrible person who has no business being in front of the customers. They not only lost my business but my wife's business as well."

I'm so glad that Walmart wouldn't accept my new insurance and I found this place. That's been over 5 years ago and once I went here, I've never looked back. They couldn't pay me to leave."
