"LONG POST: Wish I could give 0 stars. I’m a first time mom and chose Dr. Strickland to be my son’s primary pediatrician. Worst mistake ever. Not only was I unhappy with Dr. Strickland, the front desk receptionist (Vanessa I think is her name) was always extremely rude and unprofessional. Other patients there have also commented on her. She told me that I was “late” for one of my son’s appointments. Keep in mind that this was his two week checkup and he was getting his shots at this appointment. I was scheduled for to come in at 9:30. I check in 10 minutes prior and she told me that I needed to reschedule since I was “late.” I showed her my confirmation email stating that the appointment was at 9:30, to which she proceeds to say, “well Dr. Strickland requires all of his patients to be 15 minutes early.” Okay, but why wasn’t I told this beforehand? I would have come in 15 mins early if I had known that. Not to mention that this was his 4th time being seen at this clinic and it wasn’t mentioned to me until that particular morning. Also, I still have to wait nearly an hour to be seen by Strickland anyways, so what’s the point in that? And lastly, just to share a little story that drove me over the edge. My son has really bad eczema. It was brushed off for months by Strickland as just “baby acne.” Well fast forward, my son’s skin became extremely irritated and raw from his constantly rubbing it to the point where it would bleed. I set up another sick appointment and that’s whenever Strickland finally decided it was eczema. He wrote three different prescriptions for ointments for me to pick up at the pharmacy that day. Keep in mind, this was on a Friday at around 9 in the morning. After we left and got home, I waited for the pharmacy to call saying that the prescriptions were filled. Fast forward to about 11 o’clock, I called them asking if they were ready yet and they claimed to not have received anything yet, but told me to wait a little bit longer for them to receive it. Fast forward again to 2 o’clock, they still had not received anything. So I tried to call Dr. Strickland to see what was going on and come to find out that whole clinic closed at 2pm on a Friday to attend a staff party. I don’t understand why waiting until 5 after you close in order to have a party wasn’t an option. My workplace always waits until after office hours or at least has people rotating to answer calls. Very unprofessional for this to be a DOCTORS OFFICE. I CANNOT wait until Monday to get my son’s prescriptions. I needed them that day; the day he was SUPPOSED to have them sent over to the pharmacy. Anyways, I was finally able to get ahold of someone who was working on overnight calls. They assured me that they would page Strickland and have him call me to fix everything. Well, good ol’ Dr. Strickland never answered the page because I guess he was too busy at the party. Thankfully, the other pediatrician who worked for SAMC answered the page. She was very sweet and helpful. She was able to go into the system and see that Dr. Strickland only wrote the prescriptions down in his notes, but he somehow completely forgot to actually send them over to the pharmacy. HOW? I could have already been giving my son the prescriptions he needed, yet it was delayed due to the completely incompetent Dr. Strickland. The other pediatrician was able to successfully send it over and I was able to go pick everything up right as the pharmacy was closing. If it hadn’t been for her, my son would have had to wait to get his medicine. I finally switched doctor offices and pediatricians. I haven’t been happier. Our new doctor is the best and she allows both parents to be in the room to comfort the baby after getting shots and she always listens to our concerns. Plus, the entire staff at our new location is very kind and courteous. Do better if you’re labeled as a professional medical facility. The amount of bad reviews and overall bad things I have heard about this place is astonishing. Maybe you should take these reviews into consideration."

"08/09/2022: They now close at 7pm. I absolutely love the pediatric side of the office. They're amazing with my daughter and she is very comfortable with them as well. I was recommended by family members, as they have taken their children here for years, and I have never had a complaint in 3 years."

"After years of seeing our 2 boys (5 and 11 years old) he refused to treat them any longer when we started refusing vaccines. If you want a doctor that will let you make decisions about COVID and other vaccines for your children, well... this is not the place for you."

"Dr. Strickland is the best pediatrician hand down!! My grandsons ages 8 and 17 have seen Dr Strickland for years. The 17 year old trusts Dr Strickland 100% and refuses to see anyone else. I don’t know what we’ll do when he’s too old to him any longer."

"The worst Pediatrician I have ever been to. I waited OVER AN HOUR to be seen and still wasn’t seen. Yes, I did have an appointment. I have an appointment for a REASON. Not because I can sit around all day. I finally walked out and we are now going somewhere else. Never have I ever waiting more than 15 minutes to be seen elsewhere."
