"We recently had the most horrible experience at this Hospital. Parents, I understand our options are so limited but please, I urge you to ask MANY questions. Do not consent to everything and listen to your kids! My son went for symptoms of ptsd after losing 3 family members and our family cat within 2 months. He was started on antipsychotics within hours of him arriving. This was my first worry because originally they told me they do not "push pills". They also took him off of his ADHD medicine to "evaluate him" but on his first day, he was sent to "the white room" or solitary 3 times, for not doing his work! Knowing that he needs medication to focus. One of the nurses even punched him in the chest while putting him in this room. I waited for my scheduled family session to discuss this with the faculty because I didn't want to jump to conclusions. My fears were true, the counselor confirmed that my son was in fact taken and for the exact reasons she told me. She said that she felt it was excessive and she even told the nurse that it was excessive. She also got my son out of that room herself one of the times. The facility refused to let me speak to the so called Dr who was so quick to prescribe my son medications because "he's busy" and he only comes to the facility on Tuesdays. My son arrived Tuesday night so I asked how the Dr was able to diagnose my son with 2 different disorders and prescribe medicine if he had never even met him? They said that it was based on my answers to the intake questions!!! This Dr needs his license taken away like yesterday!!!!! It was absolutely insane. They never contacted me about my son being put in this room and they had told me that they only send them to the room under extreme circumstances if the kids are uncontrollable and I asked if I would be notified and they told me they would call me anytime it had to be used! Then when I got there they refused to provide me with ANY of the consent forms that they had me verbally consent to. They got so mad when I asked for copies they refused to speak to me anymore. How is this whole place not shut down???? My kid needed some trauma therapy. Not additional trauma with some added abuse."
"I went here not too long ago back in August and I would never go back. First and for most I have bad anxiety and the only thing they did to stop it was give me medicine after I complained about it giving me attacks. I was sitting down having a panic attack in the chair in front of the desk where we make phone calls and I overheard all the doctors having conversations about their patients and even laughing while calling some crazy. They wouldn’t let me call my mom the first 24 hours, which made my anxiety attack worse. They do not give you hair brushes, and one of the showers were so small you had to bend down in able to wash ur entire body. Also one of the ladies were extremely rude to me, she lied to my face and told me it wasn’t up to my mom to take me home and that it was up to my therapist. I also remember these two girls telling me it would be hell there. Thankfully my mom listened to me and picked me up immediately after I told her what was going on. (You can pick you kid up, the people do not decide.) place looked dirty when you actually make it past the area where you get dropped off and the food was horrible."
"My daughter made incredible progress here! She loved her counselors and nurses! She often talks about her experiences there and how the staff looked at her as if she was their only patient. She raved about the food (I know that is not at the forefront of a parents mind when looking for an inpatient center, but you certainly heal better when you’re well fed). She loved the activities and the counseling sessions. Highly recommend!"
"I was there when I was 17, half the staff was great, half wasn’t, you really just need to find you people in there. even with bipolar and anxiety, they “tried” to help me. the only person I felt that got me was Campbell. well at least he tried to understand. Everything was weird in there tho, I felt like stranger things in those rooms, I hated being separated because people got along. But nevertheless, it was decent enough. But I wouldn’t go back and I’m glad I can say I’m strong enough to where I don’t have to go back."
"Having a panic attack because pills? More pills! They seriously did not help at all not even mentioning the staff were so rude and would make you do work so they didn’t have to deal with you. I went here last year and honestly it was terrible. You get in trouble for basically everything. The only way for staff to be good to you is if you’re quiet and never speak. They took away our chalk because we were having too much fun and drawing too much. When I got out my separation anxiety was 100x worse and I had to sleep in my moms bed for over a year and never left her side unless she had work or I had school for an entire year until I was finally able to be away from her again. One of the staff got information wrong and sent me into a huge panic attack because they lied to my mother and said they were going to keep me for another week. This is ridiculous and the medicine I got from them made me puke. For months I was having spurts of puke and it was horrible. Never go here nor should you send your child here."
