Reviews of WellStone Emergency Services
"This place is a joke. I took my 18 year old daughter there because she was feeling suicidal. They drug tested her and the nurse said her drug test came back positive for fentanyl and alcohol. She literally doesn't go anywhere. She had went to the hospital not even a month before and they drug tested her and it was negative for fentanyl. I didn't believe her test was positive, so I went and bought a drug test and it came back negative for fentanyl. This caused her more emotional distress on her and made things worse for her. There was a patient and staff watching an inappropriate movie. She called me crying because of the whole situation not even 30 minutes after I had dropped her off, she had checked herself out. DO NOT TAKE YOUNG ADULTS THERE!!!"
"I did not feel safe at this facility. I was having mixed episodes for my bipolar disorder and felt suicidal so I called the local mobile crisis unit to take me. They really lure you in with how nice the front is and the temporary holding. The staff in the temporary area were kind and funny. The nurse practitioner was very nice. The nurse who triages you gave me my medicine at the wrong time only 5 hours after I had already taken it and wouldn’t listen to me about it. Anyway after you feel safe and comfortable and agree for treatment they take you to the extended unit. It is absolutely terrifying. I felt like I was in jail and it was absolutely disgusting everywhere. 1. My room had a used washcloth in the shower from a previous resident. 2. The communal shower had soaked towels everywhere because the shower made a terrible mess. 3. No one ever came and cleaned my room. Other residents who had been there longer said their bedding stunk because they were never changed. 4. They washed my clothes but it sat in the washer all night so it smelt terrible the next day. 5. The drink options were awful. There is one “water fountain” for you to fill up your small cup which you have to keep, the water is warm and clearly tap. 6. If you have dietary restrictions you can kiss those goodbye. I had a surgery that doesn’t allow me to eat and drink at the same time. I have to wait an hour after I eat, however I got in trouble for keeping my cup, so I was never able to drink it. 7. They gave me too many medications the morning after I was moved into extended day. I was supposed to be on 3 (as per the doctor as well as the directions on my chart)but there were five. When I asked about it they just looked at me like I was stupid. 8. A young woman who had been there a few times was talked down to about being a “frequent flyer”. The man in the kitchen yelled at a girl who wants seconds saying “eat it or throw it away I don’t care” whilst slamming things. People here are already having a terrible time. If you have loved ones in this facility take this as a sign to check on them. All in all I would rather ….. than come here again. If anything it taught me not to reach out when I need help."
"I brought my son to Wellstone a few months ago. The facility is absolutely beautiful. The staff that I encountered was very helpful; professional & compassionate at the same time. Unfortunately my son did not stay long enough to detox & left A.M.A the next day. I work in substance abuse recovery myself & have since then got the privilege to speak with a support recovery specialist from this facility. I appreciate the work that is done here & just from my experience would & have recommended Wellstone to others. Thank you again for the work that you all are doing. You make a difference."
"This place is sad. It is a new facility & that's the only plus. I'm not sure who's doing the hiring.. You can tell no cleaning or disinfecting is going on . It smells like a nursing home & reeks. They clearly will hire anyone. Nothing about the staff is professional. EVERYONE has open access to the area where high risk patients are kept. And that is definitely not within guidelines. Employees peek through the doors glass being nosey. These people aren't even suppose to be in this area. It's designated for the patient. But they do what the hell they want. Popping in 3 & 4 at a time trying to see who's in the room. So obvious. I saw a custodian come and empty two small trash bins. She didn't even enter the restroom. The toliet had dried sticky urine on it & dried feces. Dirty tissue on the floor & and used sanitary napkins. The staff designated for this area knows the condition of the restroom becsuse they use the same one. The nurse distributing the medication was making smart & insensitive comments while giving meds. And even took it a step further asking security & the red head Caucasian female behind the desk if they wanted meds also. The atmosphere a is like a college dorm room with a revolving door. The same custodian that pulled two trash bins ( blk lady with dreads & glasses) came in at least three times not working & carrying on meaningless conversations. This area is the meet-up spot. There's no structure or confidentiality. Very uncomfortable & inconsiderate for the unwell. I've never seen so many nosey females & males in my life. A bunch of young & older people with time to waste. It's only about a pay check. Security ( light skin chubby & balding) is rude, gossips & lazy. GHETTO is and understatement. I wouldn't let a sad dog go there. The floors were filthy. The bathroom was pissy & the showers was disgusting. It's all a front. They don't give a damn! Huntsville has the laziest, most nosey Negros I've ever dealt with in my life. Walking around with hoodies on looking pathetic & unprofessional. On their cell phones. The Dr. Narahair was very arrogant & rude. He clearly thinks domestic violence is okay. His remarks were out of line & insensitive. The staff needs just as much mental help as the patients. Security will leave your personal items out in the open in view with your first & last name visible to anyone coming in that area. Which bagged lable personal items are to be kept upfront under lock & key. This is just a sign of being lazy & not respecting patient confidentiality. You weren't able to relax for the loud taIking and laughter from staff. It was all bad! The best part was leaving. Don't waste your insurance here. No sense of security & support. It's disturbing how the elderly, sick & children are treated in this country."
"Building is brand new but place is not well ran. Dr. Praveen Narahari see's a few patients in the morning and is not there rest of the day. He has another job. You are only taken care of nurse practitioners including on the weekends also. also no groups on the weekends just sit around bored. go to huntsville hospital for better care."
