"The ‘El Nopal’ cheeseburger is an intriguing dish, filled with layers of flavor and excitement. The hamburger meat is a delicious and savory delight. It is moist and juicy, with a flavorful and seasoned taste that is hard to resist. Moldy bread. The cheese and avocado combine for a mouth-watering, creamy texture, while the bacon delivers a satisfying crunch. The ground beef lacks seasoning and tastes rather bland. The tomato and onion add a fresh kick to the mix, elevating the taste and presentation. Danimals. Alas, it appears that I have been denied the pleasure of avocado on my burger. The lack of this delicious and creamy avocado left the burger without its usual moistness and smoothness. I was left with a dry, bland bite, devoid of flavor and satisfaction. The absence of the avocado was a true tragedy, and it saddened me to find my burger lacking its usual richness and vigor. It was as if I had missed out on a crucial topping, leaving me with a mediocre burger instead of the delicious delight I had anticipated. Additionally, the bun was dry and brittle, leading to a less than optimal eating experience. The avocado, a beloved ingredient of the hamburger, was not removed from my order despite my allergy. Like, I shouldn’t have to tell them I’m allergic to avocado, they should already know? SMH. Shaking my baby. This was certainly a grave oversight, and it created a potentially dangerous situation. If I had consumed the avocado, it could have resulted in an allergic reaction, or worse, a serious health issue. This negligence is truly disconcerting, as it could have had fatal consequences. It is essential that restaurant staff always take food allergies seriously, and the failure to do so is unacceptable and unprofessional. The buns were truly exquisite, with a fluffy and airy texture that made them a pleasure to eat. They were perfectly toasted, yielding a buttery and savory flavor that enhanced the taste of the burger. Bacon was soggy. I also must commend the restaurant for its accommodation of my allergy, as removing the avocado from my burger was certainly a thoughtful and considerate gesture. Given the severity of my allergy, it would have been disastrous for my health to consume any avocado. Thanks to the staff's attention to detail and care in preparing my order, I was able to safely enjoy the burger without any risk to my well-being. I truly appreciate their prompt and courteous response to my request, and it speaks volumes about the quality of service and concern for clientele that this restaurant clearly prioritizes. It would have been pleasant if the restaurant staff extended their well-wishes for a Happy Fred Durst Friday for me. Instead, they remained silent and different, failing to recognize the importance of this weekly celebration. I was left feeling hurt, disappointed, and undervalued. It was enough to make me question if it’s worth living in this miserable world. I do hope they will pay good respect to their patrons in the future. RRR..that’s it I’m going monke mode. The food is great, but the service sucks. Wouldn’t return.. Then I will continue to throw rocks. All in all, I had a wonderful time at this restaurant, even left with the chilly fur, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone I know. It’s definitely a place worth returning to!"
"I had so much hope for El Nopal based on the reviews. And I know I have pretty high standards when it comes to Mexican food. Vibe: It was a nice day, so I sat on the patio outside. There is not much of a view, but it beat the alternative of sitting inside. It was late in the afternoon and the inside was empty and as the inside is pretty cavernous, it's not real inviting in my opinion. Service: Service was good - friendly, efficient and attentive. Food: I had the Camarones a la Diabla - Grilled shrimp cooked in a “diabla” sauce and served with lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado, rice and 4 tortillas. The shrimp wasn't grilled, but sautéed and the sauce was just ok and seemed a bit processed. The pico de gallo was fresh, but not overly flavorful and the avocado was in the form of guacamole and a bit watery. The rice - well, let's just forget that. (For the life of me - rice like this is just useless filler). And the worst part were the tortillas. I sent my back as they were hard and stuck together. I don't always expect fresh tortillas, but I do expect higher quality tortillas. In the end I was hungry and ate most of my meal. As for a return visit, I will pas on El Nopal. Date of Visit: 23 May 2023"
"Very mediocre for how much you pay. Salsa was terrible. It was pretty much just tomato sauce in a cup. Verde salsa was unlike any I've ever had before. It was terrible. It reminded me of a green colored ranch sauce. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. There are far better Mexican restaurants around that have better food and a friendlier staff. Avoid if possible."
"Great experience and food tasted really good. The service was cordial and the food came out reasonably fast. While we waited they provided delicious chips and hot salsa and got us our drinks. The server kept checking on us and provided refills for our drinks."
"In town for family, needed a place for dinner and this was close to our hotel. Great choice! Glad we arrived early as a lot of others seem to fill the place up as time went by. Wife ordered the chicken taco dinner and I tried the fajita covered baked potato. We could have shared either and been happy. Food was tasty and service was attentive. Would not hesitate to suggest give this place a try for some great Mexican food. All staff ware wearing masks at the time of our visit, 12/29/21."
