"Told me a price fer water pump and timing. Stuck with it and called to let me know what problems they ran into, throughout the day. They said the head gasket was blown. I took it to another shop to get the headwork done. When the other shop completed the heads they couldn't get it to run right. Apparently the guys who did the water pump and timing failed to put it back together correctly and stripped out the bolts on the water pump. Had to pay an extra 800 fee what these guys already charged me 600 to do. Nope never again."

"My daughter and I drove her new-to-us vehicle from Madison, WI to Purdue for a college visit. Halfway to Chicago i realized I never took it to my excellent mechanic to give it a once over. But, too late at that point. Saturday morning we decided to take a little tour around the area to get a feel for it. And of course just as we were getting ready to drive home, the check engine light came on. Almost 300 miles from home - not a good feeling. I started looking for repair shops. I saw Herrera's was open. The reviews all said how pleased they were with the service and what a great guy Mr. Herrera is. Turns out the reviews were all true and then some. I explained the situation. He offered to run a diagnostic and possibly if it was a quick job he could do it, but he didn't want to promise anything. Turned out it was a coolant sensor and he called for a replacement part immediately. He said we didn't have to do the repair- he could return the part if we didn't use it. He wasn't pushy or impatient and was not at all condescending when he explained the problen. I gave him the go ahead and much sooner than I expected it was finished. My daughter and I were surprised at how reasonable the bill was. I realized later that I set myself up to get a highly inflated bill by being honest about our situation. Fortunately Mr. Herrera was just as honest back. I cannot thank him enough, nor can I recommend him highly enough. If my daughter chooses Purdue and has a car with her, she will use Herrera's for service even though there are probably places closer to campus."

Hector and Lalo are honest and trustworthy and are patient as I try and describe my car problems. They never try and sell me extra fixes that the car doesn't need. "Hector Herreras is a hard working, honest mechanic and has gone out of his way to accomodate us to get our work vans repaired when we had a time crunch. He stopped what he was doing and did our job that took about an hour one Saturday. His rates are very reasonable and his quality superb. He takes pride in doing a great job. We have had him work on about 5 of our vehicles and each time he explains things very well. It is nice to actually be able to talk to the mechanic that works on your vehicle to hear what they repaired, instead of a sales person at a desk.
