"As I was leaving healthy rivers INitiative sugar Creek conservation area. I stopped right after Jackson's bridge because I saw a baldie perched on a tree next to the bridge. Went and took some pictures and videos. As I was getting ready to walk back to my car a golden eagle decided to do a fly by as well. Baldie and a Golden!"
"Only area to photograph bridge is unpot not posted private property that looks like public access to river. When told one has to pay to access area people there refused to accept payment for access."
"Kayaking: Took out here after we dropped in at Narrows covered bridge (see my review there). You’ll take out on your left side after going under the bridge into an area which seems to have once been commercially ran by a kayaking company. It was not active while we were there. We left our car parked on the side of the road and right by the covered bridge, we’re gone for several hours and had no issues when we returned. You’ll see that pictured. I did try to avoid the gated area in case a kayaking company was actively using the space, you may do the same. The area was rather secluded besides the occasional 4x4 and tourist checking out the bridge. I suppose this would also be a good spot to launch but have no experience kayaking that stretch. Most of our kayak from Narrows had other people around us as we went through the park. The last hour and a half was super quiet as the commercial vessel companies take out before this. We saw an eagle sitting on its nest and enjoyed the serene quiet. We had no problem bringing a cooler and enjoying ourselves. We hit a couple low points which scrapped the bottom, but nothing we couldn’t navigate out of. It was a good 4 hour stretch or so depending on how fast the river is moving and how actively you paddle. The river was going pretty well when we went in mid April. No log jams or rapids."
"History! Not many of these left, heaps of thanks to the people that preserve these for future generations!"
"A covered bridge that is truly in great shape. Just think it was built during the first year of the Civil war. Lincoln was in office, Wow!"
