Reviews of Smith Lake Park
"This is the view from the condos in crane hill, Al on smith lake. Very large, clean, peaceful and quiet lake located in Alabama."
"Super fun for the family! Yes it is a lake so you will get the squishy between your toes, but it is clean warm and great for swimming. There is a large access to the lake here and plenty of places to rest on a grassy bank in or out of the shade. They also have a little convenience store with brochures telling you were to rent a boat or jet skiis, camping availability and much more. There is a put put golf course and a pool on site. You can also launch your water craft here. We went on the 1st Monday in August and it was pretty dead, us and maybe 3 other families. The pool looked fun and had a lifeguard, but we stayed in the lake. The lake water was actually warm and we did not get attacked by little fish or anything. The grass was well maintained and pretty free of bugs too. This is a great place to take the family. They do have signs that say no dogs fyi."
"My family and I went for two days just as a small camping trip. The front office was very nice and accommodating. Setting up the camper was easy. The park was pretty quiet. In general, most dogs that people had were kept on leashes and stayed around their owners, and people were friendly. The bathrooms were decently clean as well as the showers. We did attend the pool, which was 5 dollars a person. It's not a horrible price. The pool was pretty big, had some diving bords and a lifeguard watching, but it was a bit dirty. They had some food and pool toys they were selling. That was nice but the workers didn't seem as friendly as the front staff was but they did all look to be teenagers. We also went paddlebording out on the lake. It was easy to drive the truck up close to the shore to unload our things and get situated. It was a bit hard to find the entrance to the lake. You have to exit the park and then take an immediate left to follow that road around and down by the lake. It's a bit weird to have a huge fence around the whole park and not have easy access to the main attraction. They do have a gate that you can cut through, but it's always locked. Other than that, I dont have much to complain about. It was quiet and not very busy when I went though so you might have a different experience. If you stay for more than a weekend it might get a bit boring they only really have the lake the pool and mini gold which didn't look very interesting to us. The photo I included is a picture of my boyfriend and our dog in the lake."
"The new boat launch is nice and you can get a lot of boats in and out of the water in a short amount of time! Enough parking for big tournaments."
"We had last minute cancellations at a park for a birthday party..... I was told to contact Smith Lake Park to see if they had anything available. When I called they was very polite. When I went up there to pay for the pavilion they was still very nice and polite, they also was very helpful with the questions that I had. The day of the party all of the kids had fun, there was a playground area with slides, swings, etc. I noticed the day I paid for the pavilion and went to look at what I rented that The playground was on the small side. There is a lot of open area though so I took a ton of different balls...... The kids had enough room to play football, soccer, kickball, etc. All in all it turned out to be a great place to do a child's birthday party, only rated 4 stars because the playground is on the small side"
