"They need to CLEAN house ! When I walked in the employees were all standing around in a circle gossiping and did not acknowledge any of the customers coming in. They were sitting on the counters where the clothes belong doing nothing and were extremely unprofessional. They have a no garbage bag policy which I was fine with but they then dirtied up my nice personal bag that I had to use which isn’t ok. They didn’t apologize for it and then they lied and said I can only sell once a day, which no other Plato’s closet does that. The whole staff needs to be fired. The girl with the braids and long nails was disrespectful and condescending. She needs to be the first to go !"
"The customer service was horrible. I came in with clothes in garbage bags unaware of the no garbage bag policy. They tried to make me buy 4 of their $1.50 tote bags to fit my 3 garbage bags full of clothes. They took my 4 pieces of clothing that were not in the bags and agreed to look at them. They then told me I could come back later with my clothes as long as it wasn’t in the bags. I went to target bought a bin to stick my bags of clothes in for them to look at. I came back to pick up my clothes and bring in my other clothes all to find that you can only donate once a day. The middle aged, short manager with curly brown hair who told me to come back later watched this whole interaction and when I was blindsided decided to leave like a coward. She then just so happened to walk back into the establishment after I had returned to my car. The experience was awful and I would rather donate my clothes for free then sell to this establishment whose goal is to take name brand clothing from younger adults and teenagers and rip them off by offering them $5 for what they probably spent $50 on. I will never return to this establishment again."
"What a joke! Super nice laundered Express, Polo, high-end young men's clothes.... three full baskets and they took four items. "We're just being really super picky right now because our inventory is high" Don't waste your time people! Donate your clothes to the Salvation Army or some other charity that needs it!"
"Definitely was not impressed with the customer service when I was here this past weekend. Normally I don’t leave bad reviews like this, but the service was just bad. I dropped off a bin and all was good, check in process normal and I have no complaints there. But I came in to pick up and sat at the checkout area, ignored, for at least a solid 2 minutes. It was not at all busy. No one else in line, didn’t even appear that they were struggling with other drop offs behind the counter either. Normally waiting wouldn’t be an issue, except there were 2 employees standing behind the register, talking. One of the girls looked like she was sorting through a bin, which was fine. However, the second girl was facing my direction, looking at me, back up against the wall of tubs, talking to the girl sorting and was doing nothing else. An employee even walked past me and smiled. It took standing there for 2 minutes for the girl that was doing nothing but talking to tell SOMEONE ELSE to come to the register. God forbid your conversation is interrupted for you to do your job. A girl walks over to cash me out, and on her way over to the register, another employee that was off to the side purposely puts her foot out to trip her/ make her stumble… childish. Im then handed my bin. It was pretty full at drop off, but everything fit inside and the lid closed with no issues. They didn’t take much, which wasn’t the issue at all as I normally just take stuff in to see if I can get some cash before donating. But when I’m handed back my bin, the clothes were just thrown back in to the point where the lid wouldn’t shut. I’m all for having a good time and being friends with your coworkers, but it’s like they let that get in the way and all seemed inconvenienced by doing their jobs. Perhaps management needs to have a talk about maturity and customer service."
"Great place to find gently used mens and women's name brand clothes, shoes and hats. If you sign up for an account you can earn rewards from your purchases. Plenty of changing rooms and a courteous and helpful staff. Conveniently located just off Veterans Parkway near HyVee with plenty of parking."
