"I stopped by Backstep Brewing Company this evening for a drink and dinner with a friend. I had never been, but it came highly-recommended. After reviewing the menu, they had not only their own but other local brews on tap. I'm not particularly an IPA person and usually have limited options at a microbrewery, so I was excited to see that their current brews were a variety of lighter ales. I had the Backstep amber ale and their golden ale. Both were very good. We ordered pizza from Brothers Pizza across the street and ate while we enjoyed the drinks. In all, the service was very good and the drinks were very good. I'd stongly recommend this place if you're looking for a small brewery in downtown Crawfordsville. I'll certainly be back."

"Sampled 4, chose 1, walked out with 2 growlers - here on day 2 after Grand Opening event. Small-town micro at its best! These guys took their time, got a great brewmaster and did it RIGHT. This micro will surely put Crawforsdville on the map as one of Indiana's up and coming new brew-pubs. Great atmosphere, great location, great people, great tap selection and NOW great local brew!
