HERO Coffee Bar

"A true gem right by UIC Law School. In between classes, my friend and I decided to go and find a cool study spot. Instead of studying in school, we decided to find a nearby coffee shop. We chose HERO, and it definitely didn't disappoint. Walking in, you are greeted by the friendliest, funniest and kindest people. The music is great and the atmosphere is so welcoming. I was struggling with writing a paper for a few weeks now, and was able to concentrate here and just finished it. They also have very cool, colorful cups and the stickers on their fridge bring so much joy. Check out the pics. I absolutely love this place and will definietly come back here. Shoutout to Patrick who took my order, Jada who put my drink in a cool, colorful cup and checked in on me and other patrons to make sure we have everything we need. Michelle, I didn't have a chance to meet her, but thanks for owning this gem!!! I LOVE IT."

"Super cute coffee spot hidden in an alley between two big buildings. The service is excellent with the coffee coming out fast and so good! I got the teddy grahmn latte and my bf got a fast coffee. Sitting in the alley sipping coffee is a must!! It is an experience that is so fun!"

"I loved the vibes of this place and how fast the foods were served. I tried the smooth cirminal bagel and the hero bagel, and both tasted just okay. The jam in the smooth criminal bagel overtook other flavors. The iced latte was good."

"Stellar, smooth and well-practiced service. There is a small indoor space with limited seating, but the staff are very diligent at getting people in and out so that everyone is seated and serviced quickly. There is a standing bar too! The quick service means that the kitchen is super quick too. Bagels and coffee are really tasty - definitely try their Smooth Criminal! Employees and their music definitely add to the chill vibe."

"Good coffee, tasty & well balanced. Vibe is nice and service is friendly and fast. Not the nicest looking location (the pretty exposed brick alleyway one is 2 blocks north) - but hey the coffee + vibe is good so a great pick me up all round"
