"Shout out to the excellent customer service to our waitress Ally. She handled the obvious crises in the kitchen the best it could be handled. The kitchen produced overcooked pizzas and burned home fries. Other meals were however really good (Schnitzel and catfish). I gave a 1* due to Management that was not in control of the situation. I was a regular customer. You would expect to have on a Saturday more staff available to serve the high demand."

"We were 20+ people using the upstairs room. We had reserved the space more than a week prior and called the day prior to assure the staff was prepared for such a large group. Just around 6pm the cook announced he would walk out of the kitchen (quit) before he'd take another order. 3 people in our group were unable to order any food. The kitchen would not even accept an order for cucumber salad. Food came out wrong, pizza was burned (black), yet presented to the customer anyway. My husband got a Schnitzel the size of a deck of cards and another member of the group was served charred home fries Our server was completely overwhelmed but did what she could. There was no management we could have spoken with. I've never encountered such a disaster. This may be a great place for small groups, but not for groups of 20+ people. The buffet was considered but turned down, as the cost would have been $24 a person for the Schnitzel that's on the Special on Saturday for $14"

"Ordered the special. Schnitzel, and 3 sides, I asked for gravy on the side. The German potato salad was very good. It did have onions in it fur those who do not like onions. red cabbage n green beans were also good. Went when it opened and seated before the crowd came in. It was very busy around lunch time. They do not have a sign out , but need to know it's seat yourself. There were some people waiting to be seated that were not aware. I didn't get a dessert but the cakes on display did look delicious. I will return. BTW.. every day is a different special. Schnitzel is Thursday and Saturday. Opens at 11."

"Food was great! Came out hot, fast and fresh. I had the snitzel and that alone took up the whole plate. Our server seemed new. The other servers did team service, jumped in and ensured we had everything we needed and saved the night. Next time I'm trying dessert. They look amazing but was too full. Great job backstreet cafe!"

"Very friendly waitress the atmosphere was great and so was the schnitzel. The appetizer was fried green tomatoes jalapeño poppers, and loaded tater tots which were all pretty good too. We’re going back tomorrow for breakfast lol… I hope"
