"Great service I’ve been a mechanic since 1974 always did my own work do to heath issues I’ve been looking for a place I can trust to do my auto repairs I think I found the place so far very happy"
"I want to thank Monteith for giving me an excellent experience. When I pulled up to their Free air pump, I noticed I had a nail in my tire. I went to the service desk, and they were very busy, but they got me in and fix my tire and sent me on my way quickly, they made my day. I will definitely go back to them for more service! I want to give a special thanks to the people in the farm/ big truck side for treating me with special care!!"
"Horrendous services both on the mechanic and management side of business. I want to say that both Syracuse and S. Goshen locations have never given me a single issue and have ALWAYS serviced their mistakes free of charge. It all started at the beginning of May when I had a timing chain issue. I took it to them to be serviced and received my truck back with codes and warning lights still reoccurring. So I had to take it back to get them cleared. After that, I had yet another code for a vacuum leak. I took it back yet again. They found that they had broken one of the sensors. So that was repaired and I was on my way. Mind you this had been a month after the initial repair because of their scheduling. This all cost about $3500. Then about a month after that I found there to be oil on my garage floor. I scheduled the truck to be serviced. I received a call claiming it was the valve cover gaskets and they were calling to get the approval to go ahead with the repair as I had only requested a diagnosis. I granted that to them hoping to receive my truck shortly after. Nope, I got yet another call claiming that as they were putting it BACK TOGETHER they saw that both valve covers had been cracked and needed replaced. So they lied during their diagnosis of just gaskets. This repair wound up costing me $1100. Keep this in mind for later. Not even a week later, I found more oil on my garage floor. So I called them again. They refused to fix it for free because my engine was coated in oil before making it hard to diagnose an oil leak I guess. Apparently they’ve never used degreaser or UV dye to locate leaks. After the truck got scheduled AGAIN, they called and claimed it was an oil filter adapter that was causing the leak. They sounded most sure of this being the remedy. This cost an additional $300. Mind you which should’ve been free as I brought the truck to them with an oil leak and it was still leaking. Keep this in mind for later. So after I got my truck back yet again, I found oil on my floor, again. It’s now the end of November. I called them and explained how frustrated I was becoming. They doubled down on how bad the motor was coated in oil and would try to get it fixed (on my dime). Must be a new feature with automobiles, oil, especially when one is leaking. So here we are yet again as they told me this time it was from the front cover. However they would repair this one for free as they recently did a timing chain repair. Well no doubt you’re doing it for free. I lied. After diagnosis of tearing apart the vehicle for I think the 5th time they called me to explain the front cover was warped and I would need to purchase it for an additional $150. I insisted on not paying for the part because they told me they should’ve found this the first time they did the repair back in May, and it wasn’t their fault for the warped cover. Um what? Ok let’s stop for a minute and put all this together. In order to do the timing chain, you have to pull the valve covers, gaskets, drain the oil (which the oil filter adapter is now a culprit from over tightening), and the front cover. All parts that have needed to be replaced AFTER THAT REPAIR WAS MADE! It has cost me damn near $5,000 with countless trips and less than 3,000 miles put on my vehicle because of their mess. To put into perspective I drive 80 miles round trip per day for work. I work 6 days a week. Yet I’ve not even managed to put 3,000 miles on the vehicle since May!? They insisted if I buy the front cover they would make the repair free. I told them to order the part and get the job complete so I can be finished with them. However, I wanted my truck before the weekend. They told me they pushed others back to get my truck done as if it was my fault for their incompetence. I then asked when the part would come in to get this fixed. They told me they canceled the order because they wouldn’t have put my truck back together if they were going to repair it. This is probably for the best as it shows they won’t repair what they break and won’t complete their warranty claims."
"These guys are honest and fair. We will always do business with them! I got new tires, and a few weeks later my car was saying low tire pressure. They checked all my tires and the sensors...at no charge! Top notch service! THANK YOU to all the hard workers at Monteith's!"
"Went in 10 minute before my appointment, which was scheduled for 10am 8-9-23, never was contacted by the dealer to let me know they canceled my appointment not professional, very mean counter people, and stupid manager, I took a day off work to service my vehicle, I went inside to make the appointment, last place I will visit again. Thanks to Warsaw GMC I got it done with excellence, no waiting."
