Reviews
"Hot, fresh, delicious corned beef and sauerkraut! Unfortunately, the customer experience and customer service is absolutely terrible because of the employees who couldn’t care less about you being there. This would be a five star review if they only said “hello.” Experience with the supervisor/manager was particularly negative, which clearly infects the whole place. Too bad."
"Were out of several menu items, had to settle for roast beef that was 75% fat. This location used to be pretty good and exceptional by airport standards, it's fallen behind by IND standards."
"My dad, being from Indy, RAVES every time I'm in Indy to go to Shapiros. However, their mall location just is not great. My biggest issue with my sandwich was uneven mustard piles and then the sandwich itself had ZERO structural integrity. I'd have been better off eating it like a salad from a bowl as it fell apart pretty much right away (and yes I ate it pretty much right away after it was assembled in front of me). UPDATE - The team behind Shapiro's was very good about communicating this being incorrectly made, and did eventually offer a refund to correct this mistake. I raised my review from a 2 to 3 for their efforts and would love to try their Downtown location in the future."
"The tuna salad sandwich was actually delicious! The salad wasn’t just tuna and mayo, there were also pieces of celery and relish in there (and it seemed like maybe egg?) that added some flavour and texture. I had it with 1000 Island dressing which was great, and thankfully they didn't slather the dressing on - just a light coating on the bread. Even though they loaded up the sandwich with filling, the slices of bread weren't huge, so $14 was pretty expensive for a simple deli sandwich, although obviously you expect to overpay at an airport. The cashier here was super nice and made my morning with how cheerful she was. I also appreciated that they broke out the tuna salad for me at 10:27 when lunch technically starts at 10:30. The line moved pretty quickly too."
"Perhaps the worst deli sandwich I have ever eaten. Got a NY Reuben. I couldn’t bite through the sandwich. Everything wanted to come out all at once because it was bound together by fat and nerve. Girl at counter could only say “sorry, I don’t know what happen with that” total waste of $20. Sad I had to give a star so I could post this."
