"I don’t usually write reviews. I went in to have my dip polish soaked off. Some nails had tips on them. She cut them and pried them off, which hurt, and ripped off some of my natural nail. The natural nail that was left wasn’t properly filed, there are jagged pieces on the end of several nails. She left my station in the middle of my service to replace a nail of someone who came in who must have been one of her regulars. I will not be back."

"guy was smoking a cig outside and didn't wash his hands after he came in to do my nails. I had to wash my hands like 5 times at home to get rid of the smell. He cut and shaped them incredibly poorly. i could have done a better job myself"

"I’m Actually mind blown that this place is in Mountainbrook. I just assumed it would be beautiful because of that alone. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted for a few minutes. In that time period I almost turned around and walked out. Honestly it didn’t really look too cleanly. I really wish I would have. The person who did my nails wasn’t too concerned about filing my skin while removing the prior nail polish. Also, I have been getting my nails done my entire life and they have never been put in a plastic glove and sealed in there the way they had them. My fingers were pulsating, it was strange. All I had done was a manicure. My nails look WAY better then when I came in, however I still have hanging pieces of skin around the tops and side of nails. ( see picture). The place could definitely use some cleaning and updating. Unfortunately I will not be going back even though it’s walking distance from my house."

"BEWARE!!! * if I could give zero stars I would! It was the worst experience in my life! I will never go in that direction again. I was trying to find the salon Lovely Nails after my regular place to visit called Genesis Nail salon (highly recommend!), was closing and not taking any more clients. I arrived and was told they could complete a full set with gel. I was hesitant since everyone present were only getting manicures. But I agree to the service and before she could finish, I had to literally stop her. The acrylic surpassed my nail bed and was on my actual finger! She had cut one of my fingers to the point I was bleeding, her response was that the filer was “new”! She did not give any attention to my bleeding finger as she tried to file down the ton of acrylic over my finger. The shape was awful. The lady was very unfriendly and was angered when I asked for them to be removed. She then tried to clip my nails with clippers with the thick layer of acrylic still sitting on my nails. When I refused and asked her to properly remove them she said it would be $50 for her to do so since she had been working on my hands going on 3 hours and was not finished. Mind you I had only been in the salon for an hour at most. When I asked for the manager, no one spoke up to claim the establishment. One lady behind the lady doing my nails agreed to properly remove my nails but then insulted me telling me that mountain Brooke is an “expensive” area and I should try going to places in Birmingham! Mind you MONEY WAS NOT THE ISSUE BUT THE IMPROPERLY TRAINED EMPLOYEE WHO ATTEMPTED TO DO A FULL SET! Mind you if you were the type of establishment that was not comfortable completing that service you SHOULD NOT OFFER IT TO CUSTOMERS! I was very unhappy with the service and the employees! Please do not waste your time going to this place if you would like nails properly done! There are much better places near by! *excuse the typos you can’t edit these on the phone after typing lol"
