"DO NOT HAVE THEM ASSEMBLE. If you are buying a mower, do not have them "assemble" it for you. I selected this option since it was free with my purchase (after knowing how easy the assembly was, I should've requested it in the box unassembled). I purchased a new Ego mower this spring from Ace. When I arrived to pick it up, the battery had a few scratches and the charging station was covered in dust. I didn't think anything of it. I just assumed it was maybe dropped and that where it was stored gets a lot of traffic and dust gets kicked up. A few months later, my battery stopped working. I submitted a warranty claim with Ego (not a great experience) and I asked the last person I spoke with why the battery already died. He stated that the mower was from 2021, the charger from 2018 and the battery from 2019 (not only was it old, it was an older generation of battery as well). He said based on what I registered, the battery and charger did not come with my mower. He said it appears as though I was given a used or old battery, as well as a used charger. He informed me that they've had similar issues like this in the past with Ace. I like this Ace Hardware store, but I will never make a large purchase, or even any purchase, from this store again. I hope that the battery and charger that was removed from my original box is being put to good use. To spend $500+ on a new mower just to get a bait and switch..."
