"Booked 2 appointments for us, it was our first time. Upon walking in everyone was nice and spoke. However, after one hour, we had only gotten as far as the soak off. As far as the second appt. after 10 minutes past the appt. time, she left to grab coffee and something to snack on. Upon returning, her person still was not ready to start on her. So she attempted to sit with me and eat her snack and coffee but was addressed by the owner who said “you can’t eat back here, you gotta go up front”. She complied but it was very rudely said. After which, my nail tech Toni realized there wasn’t any hot water. The owner comes over and tells her to heat up a kettle but doesn’t say one word to me in any form of apologizing for the inconvenience. By this time; we have been present 2 hours and the soak off of my nails and shaping of my toes and no services for the second appointment had been rendered. Because I wasn’t comfortable with the the idea of the kettle to heat up some water for the pedicure knowing that heat would only last for so long; I opted to cancel the remaining services. The second appts. tech did come over and apologize as well for running significantly behind. Lastly, the environment should be taken into consideration before you go. You can’t enjoy a beverage or snack, loud R&B music combined with excruciating hot temperatures, and limited to no hot water is possible as the owner says others had ran out all of the hot water from other nearby tenants. I’ll say this, Toni was amazing but the owner could use some customer service training. Re: Your response Not sure why you decided to get personal specifically naming and categorizing as spouse in your response, when I clearly left that off my review and never did I confirm that title with anyone. That simply lacks confidentiality and professionalism in itself. There was only ONE bag, not bags everywhere and it had two little muffins in it. I was attempting to get a pedicure and she brought the bag over to me. She then sat in a nearby chair when the owner asked her to move to the lobby. If it were not taking so long beyond the appt. time to get started on her, she wouldn’t have left for a snack. The timestamped text of when she asked if I wanted anything to eat proves that. The owner NEVER asked either of us if we were okay, needed anything, let alone apologized. Her tech was NEVER ready, before or after the coffee trip. She even apologized for NOT being ready herself and stating she was running behind as she provided a cancellation of the appt. due to the time. Plan B should be discussed with the client BEFORE assuming they would be okay with such substitution. The owner only came over to address the tech about it but never asked me if I was ok with the bazaar idea of kettle water. The owner even said it would take 30 minutes for it to heat back up again, indicating this is a recurring issue to know how long it’s going to take. I never stated we wanted pedicures at the same time. The appointments were staggered, so it was clear before we came that wasn’t the case. So we never had that expectation. I was simply trying to be patient and patronize a local black female business but it just didn’t work out as planned."
"UPDATE ONE WEEK LATER: While I love my nails, two nails have chipped horribly in just one week. At the time, I had to ask her to put a second coat on, which she did , but I don’t believe she put on a base coat. I was looking for a nail salon in bhm while on a work trip and I found this salon. My nail technician Toni was so nice and did incredible work!! This is the first time in years I have truly been satisfied with my nails. Toni was so kind and is truly skilled. My nails look great. Price was great too. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town"
"I’ll be honest, the first time I came here I had a pleasant experience but the last 2 times were absolutely terrible. The staff is very inconsiderate of your time and they display alarming signs of unprofessionalism. I love supporting black businesses but you’re better off going to the asian nail salons because at least they are respectful of your time and their prices are reasonable and reflect the services they provide. I won’t be back."
"Andrea literally gave me the best Mani/Pedi I've ever had! She was very professional. The process was not rushed and she took the fact that I was ticklish into consideration and altered her approach. 10/10"
"My friend and I went on her birthday for a jelly pedi! SO cool! We had so much fun with Haven Andrea and Leslie. The music was the best and we just really had a great time. Thank you ladies!!!"
