"This little restaurant used to have such amazing food. I'm not really sure what happened but today the food was not as good. We ordered deep fried Pickles and they were paper thin with no real taste. Fried Pickles are one of my favorite things. Today they went in the garbage. That's just one example of how off the food was. I can honestly say I don't think I'll be back unless the food goes back to the way it used to be."
"Hidden in this little town called Clay City in Indiana is a Jem of a restaurant. The place is awesome so the food and service. If you ever come through you should stop by."
"I finally had a bad experience here. This is the first time I didn't enjoy my meal here. The potatoes were cold and tasted like instant, which isn't that bad by itself, but I could taste the powder it's made with. The "baked" Mac and cheese was cold and tasted very old, also it didn't taste baked. The grilled chicken was dry and tasteless. I dont know if maybe they just changed cooks or what, but this meal was terrible."
"Delicious. This place is full of nostalgia, memorabilia, and reminds me of the good ole days. A hidden gem. We had the fried pickles, prime rib, house salad, Mac and cheese, and some hot wings. All of these homemade items were fantastic and we even made friends with our server. While we were there, a local couple was all dressed up for their prom dinner. So glad we stopped here."
"The decor is fun, all of the vintage items were interesting to look at. Really loved the fun “old days” vibe. The food was absolutely terrible. I ordered a Monet Cristo it was just a hot ham and cheese sandwich and sprinkled with powdered sugar, it was not French toast, I didn’t get the strawberry preserves that were listed on the menu and the sandwich itself was burned and covered in black “debris” from the grill. The apple sauce was so watery I didn’t even let my son eat it. The house chips were burned and inedible. I commented to my server that my sandwich was burned and I couldn’t eat it, she said ok and walked away. I understand that times are hard right now but there is no reason to serve burned food and not try to fix it. Cool place, awful food."
