"A classic American diner experience. We've been here many times, and will be back many more. The staff is always genuinely friendly and pleasant. The food is consistently good, and the prices are reasonable. I frequently get corned beef hash with poached eggs. My husband often gets an omelet. We've never been disappointed. We come for breakfast, but sometimes take slices of pie to go. Deeeeelicious! I recommend Blue's Cafe without reservation."
"Our 1st time at this place and we will definitely be back again! I had the Chicken BLT sandwich and my spouse had the handmade breaded pork tenderloin. My sandwich was pretty good and filling, made with hand breaded chicken tenders, pepperjack cheese and toasted sourdough. My spouse said that his tenderloin was a little on the thin side but its made in house and still had great flavor to it. He also had a complimentary bowl of homemade beef and barley soup, which he also enjoyed. Normally we don't do dessert, but I know that they are known locally for their homemade pies, and after reading their extensive list of pies that was posted on the wall near our table we knew that we couldn't leave without trying one. We shared a HUGE slice of the Homemade peanut Butter silk and that was an awesome choice to top off our meal at Blue's Cafe. One small note, while we did have a wait before we met our waitress, we were really enjoying the photos all over the wall of historic Kankakee and the days of the local bridges being built over the river. I cannot believe it took me so long to try this place, but now I know that it is totally worth a stop!"
"Such a good breakfast! Very friendly service, lots of locals who are greeted by name. Just a charming place. The food was delicious, the biscuits fluffy, the sausage gravy so thick and tasty. I was too full to try the pie, but brought some home to have later since all the reviews say it's not to be missed."
"Great place for pie but I think their food is decent too. Glad to see they are open later on Thursday to Saturday now. If you want a whole pie make sure to call in a day ahead of time. Definitely don't skip the pie though! Highly recommend the coconut cream pie."
"I had not been here in almost 30 years. Glad I stopped in. Food was great and so was the service and other people there. We will be going back to eat more often. I had the grilled chicken skillet and it was delicious!!! Prices are great!!!"
