Reviews of Birmingham Dental
"I am very happy with Dr.Cramer and staff.Melinda and Gena are very courteous and professional.Dr.Cramer is very knowledgeable, caring and friendly. They are continuing the great care and service that Dr.Thornton and Booth provided in my 30 plus years there.Keep up the good work folks!"
"Dr Cramer is very efficient, thorough, professional and kind. I was wondering who I would see for my dental needs after Dr Thornton retired. I must say Dr Cramer has some of the same qualities I had admired in Dr Thornton and I plan to have him as my dentist. His staff is also friendly and helpful and my mouth felt so fresh after having my teeth cleaned."
"I was Very Impressed!! Customer Service Is Top Notch! The Staff was So Kind and Friendly!! My hygienist was So Thorough and Knowledgeable. I almost literally fell asleep!!! Thanks So Very Much!! For putting my mind at ease!! I highly recommend!! Many Blessings…"
"FYI All the good reviews are from before Dr. Thornton and Booth sold their practice. I had made an appointment months before it was sold for a cleaning. I am being treated for a periodontal disease. Every 6 months i have to have a standard cleaning and in between i need a deep cleaning from my periodontist. It should of been a cleaning only. The receptionist called me the day before i was due to go in. She told me i had to have full xrays done before i could have my teeth cleaned. Even though my appointment was for a continuation of treatment that i already had xrays done for. I was told it would be 413 dollars bc i don't have insurance. This is not the same friendly patient oriented practice it once was. I am sad to see this happen to such a great place."
"I have been a patient of Dr. Thornton for at least 28 years, and my first experience with Dr. Cramer was pleasant enough. Unfortunately, I won't be back. They started texting me about my appointment, even though they had never asked for permission to do so. There was also no way to opt out of the texts, so I didn't respond at all. When I arrived for my appointment, I was told that I would have to fill out a new patient form. I told the woman at the window that I have been a patient for at least 28 years and that my address, telephone number and Insurance has not changed. Instead of checking my file to verify my information, she just told me that if I don't fill out their online form that I could go to another dentist. While she was telling me this, my personally indentifiable information, including my Social Security number, was displayed on the screen of the tablet in front of me. They obviously have my information. Then a man came out into the lobby to tell me that I should leave. I asked him who he was and he didn't answer. He said he was there to help deal with other "difficult" patients like me.That tells me they are getting static from patients of Drs. Thornton and Booth for their practices. He then told me that he is Dr. Cramer's brother. He had hot, awful breath that I smelled immediately when he came through the doorway. I mean so bad that I wanted to step back. That's not a good thing for patients of a dental office to encounter, whether they are difficult not. The sad thing is that the staff of Dr. Thornton 's office were always so friendly. Never a problem from any of them and none of them would ever have told someone they should find another dentist. So the first thing I encountered were 2 unfriendly people who were perfectly happy to see a longtime patient walk out rather than trying to come to some kind of understanding. One of those unfriendly people had wolf breath. Not a pleasant trip to the dentist. The man finally identified himself as Robert Cramer. If you have to deal with him you might want to wear a mask or hold your breath. His will knock you down."
