"I am so saddened at how the city no longer takes care of this area. I grew up nearby and to see the trail and down by the river (in-between the bridges at goudy) in such bad shape.. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO WORDS. I haven't been to this park in quite sometime and decided to take my son to my old stomping grounds for a nature walk there. The stairs are hidden with trees and weeds, the grass isnt taken care of. Flower beds are gone. Fallen trees are left in the way, making it a great area for I'm assuming homeless? My son pointed out a puddle of I'm assuming PEE from the smell, as well as human feces off a very poor pathway near Wayne rds bridge. He said he wanted to leave and didn't feel safe! I am dumbfounded. I couldn't have agreed more, and this is somewhere I previously had my homecoming and prom pictures taken and would hangout at. I then took him down the nature path across the street. Graffiti on the benches, deck is gone that overlooked the river when it was beautiful, weeds again, a mess. River stinks and is hardly even noticable to the eye what so ever. WAYNE you have concerts here but don't care about the land you're bringing people to? This is embarrassing. Wayne used to be a beautiful area and a beautiful city. Especially this park. What happened? I am so beyond disappointed in the city of Wayne that they let it get this bad! I hardly ever write bad reviews.. this is disheartening."
"Large community park in wayne mi. Tons of tables, a pavilion that occasionally holds events/performers. Also a decent size play area for kid! On hot days theres sometimes a slushy truck in the parking lot. Its also a popular meeting place for pokemon go players"
"It was a nice park, clean, little playground for the kids. In the Summer on Wednesday evenings @7:30, they have a free concert, bring your lawn chairs or blanket and enjoy. Lots of fun."
"Very nice park. Whether you're alone and just want to chill or if you have a family and want to spend an afternoon at the park seems like it's the best for pretty much anybody....."
"I go to this park often. It is spacious. It is conveniently located in downtown Wayne and just a short walk from a variety of attractions and businesses. There are churches nearby, banks, stores of many types. The River Rouge runs thorough the north part of the park. It can be very beautiful at times. If you are visiting the river be careful, however, because the water is still of poor quality. Avoid contact with the water. The park itself has pleasant walkways and is generally well lit. Avoid the river bank after sunset as there is no lighting down there. The playscape is rather large and in good condition. There is one ‘bumpy’ slide I do not recommend. For some reason someone coming down the slide can get up a good head of steam but suddenly there is a bump and twist and ‘ouch!’ is the next stop. You’ll know which one I mean when you get there. It’s the larger set facing east. The rest of it is great. There are picnic tables scattered throughout the park. There is also an amphitheater. There are several events held here during the year so besides being a nice quiet oasis in the center of town it can be a very popular place and filled with thousands of people."
