Red Lobster 1030 Montgomery Highway, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216

"We went to this store on a Sunday evening, 2/25/24, arriving around 4:45. We were told there would be a 40 minute wait for a table, but that we could sit at the bar if there were seats available. There were seats, so we elected to eat there. It was almost 30 minutes before the bartender appeared. He filled our drink order within about 10 minutes. He seemed to have a lot going on. The drinks were fine. No issues. We finally got some cheddar biscuits, and they were great. My wife ordered her favorite, crab Alfredo linguine. I ordered the sirloin steak. The steak wasn’t available, so I ordered the shrimp and scallop skewers. They were ok, but not great. A little dry. I asked for some butter to dip them in. It helped, but the butter tasted a little funky. The baked potato was fine. My wife’s crab Alfredo had zero crab. She was told the crab was now mixed into the sauce. She couldn’t find any. She was brought some crab meat to add to the dish. She states that it tasted like blue crab rather than the snow crab that was previously used. The snow crab was presented with bite size pieces of snow crab leg, covering the Alfredo sauce. Now it appears to be shredded blue crab that had a fishy taste. Not sweet at all. The bartender was off somewhere else most of the time we were there. He was responsive to our requests when he was there, but even then we seemed to be an afterthought. We have patronized this restaurant many times over the past 25 years that we have lived in the Birmingham area. Tonight was far and away the very worst and disappointing visit. It will be a while before we come back."

"The food was great. The service on the other hand was beyond awful. We were there for nearly 2 hours with no one else in the restaurant when we arrived. Waited about 10 minutes to see our server, another 10 just to get tea and water. 20 more minutes to get food and did not get the sauces we requested. Never got a refill or the to go order we requested. Waited 30 minutes just to get my credit card back. Had to ask several other servers to get it back. Wish I could give less than 1 star for overall service."

"The wait was awful! Over an hour when I was told 20-30 minutes. But when I say my waitress, Zada did her thang she did. I don't know what happened but she had a whole section by herself with over four tables and booths she had been there since 10 that morning and ended up having to close but did exceptionally well with service with a smile. So over all I really give Zada 5 stars!"

"We took my 86 year old mother here for her birthday. She really enjoyed herself. It was a party of 7 and we enjoyed the food and service. The manager gave mom her food for free."
