"We like to take our dogs here and take a dip in the river"
"Did the holly to Fenton section today. It was okay but can’t recommend. Water too low right now with a lot sections not easy (not deep enough). Worse is the final mile through mill pond, weed invested and ugly. Maybe during spring."
"Did the Holly to Fenton section today. 1st mile and a half we had a couple blockages, nothing major. One was a new beaver dam which appeared to be actively under construction considering the fresh green leaves on branches. Other than the obstacles we had a great trip."
"A 7 mile kayak route from a Holly to fenton. There was beautiful scenery. Shallow, lazy river, not fast. A beaver actually blocked our path and we had to climb over a dam but it was so fun. Hardest part is when you end up in a swampy type lake at the end in Strom park, they have yellow jug markers to guide you. Definitely will be going again."
"Yes it's a really nice Park you can sit by the river and fish or or just enjoy the water going by. But if you're Talking about the shiawassee river Kayak trip from Holly Water Works Park to Strom Park in Fenton now that is different, what a total surprise! We thought this would be a just ok Kayak trip, wow was we wrong. The trip takes about 3.5 hr.s and the first 3 hrs was such a surprise, it was amazing, beautiful, and challenging .there are a few nice places to stop stand up and break. the last 45 minutes gives you a break going across a shallow lake. You won't be disappointed."
