"I was on break today and decided to take a stroll in this store. I stopped at the perfume counter, since I’m a perfume addict. There selection did not disappoint. They have a good selection of niche fragrances. The lady behind the counter was Super Friendly, and was very likable. Also, the lady across the way at the beauty/skincare counter was also very friendly. I definitely will be back soon to visit my new favorite sales associates!"

"My wife and I have bought several pairs of shoes there. The last time we went was the best experience we have had in a shoe/clothing store. I don’t remember her name but she was great. Unfortunately this time was exactly the opposite. This lady Peggy Lee basically looked straight through my wife and I to ask another couple if they needed help. She was rude during the whole transaction. I guess she assumed that we was broke or something. Not sure. But i will tell you that she should not be working in my favorite shoe store. I will be calling Monday to speak to a manager. I will say this is a great store and i would recommend any and everyone to shop here. Just don’t let Peggy help you. She didn’t deserve to help me and make any commission off of my purchase."

"Super unfriendly associates. My boyfriend and I are younger than what I am guessing is their usual clientele and while they greeted the woman that came in after us, asking her if she needed any assistance, we got side eyed and stared at, no help offered. We were interested in buying a pair of tennis shoes each but became uncomfortable and didn’t even want to spend time in the store anymore, due to the employees’ rudeness. If the only people welcomed in the store are middle-aged and older white women (housewife type) than it would be awesome if a sign like that were posted before wasting time in such an unwelcoming environment."

"Best small department store EVER! Beautiful apparel and accessories. Alterations are top notch should you need them. And make sure to find Carolyn Martin in shoes....she knows feet and styles like no other! David and Katie do an exceptional job keeping up to date shoes for all ages. The store is always staffed and stocked well. Great place to find gifts too. I travel 75 miles to shop here! I highly recommend Gus Mayer."
