"I have been using Jones Drugs in Ardmore for several years. My doctor calls in a 90 day prescription and every time Jones fills a 90 day prescription. This time 2 of my medication, Jones only filled for a 30 day. Keep in mind I have Cigna insurance and on 1 of my medications I have a discount card where I pay $9 for a 90 day supply. When I questioned why these only filled for 30 days (which on the one with the discount card I was charged $9) I was told that the pharmacy loses money on these 2 prescriptions and by filling it for 30 days they don't lose as much.. but me the customer pays more.. Why now is this an issue? Why now do they lose money? The pharmacist acted like that was no concern for him as long as they save money. For this reason I will be taking my business elsewhere, not that Jones seems to care. The pharmacy can source out and find better prices, but they would rather you pay extra,. I feel for the older generation that has used them for years. No telling how many times they have screwed them out of a buck here and there. It adds up. Jones Drugs store should be ashamed of themselves!"
"Fastest pharmacy I have ever been to. Not even close. Lucky to have a place like this."
"Had my daughters script sent from my usual pharmacy, they told me they hadn't received them. Turned out they were on the fax machine and still waited an hour. It's not always that way. They or most are very helpful and kind. They are way under staffed, and I do understand that. They are usually great if it's just for refills they already have on file. Like I stated, I had a bad experience it could have been that day because everyone from drive threw to going inside was waiting a long time. So, 3 stars for effort from the ladies."
"Jones Drugs is a great small- town pharmacy. You can pick up your prescriptions and shop for gifts at the same time. The people are friendly and will help you find what you are looking for. The prices are pretty good too."
"For 6 years my family and I have used Jones' pharmacy. What choice do we have? Unless we want to drive out of town, it's our only choice. They've never been a 5 star pharmacy. I have other family pharmacies I can compare them to, like Carter's at Stonebridge in Fayetteville. The ones that go the extra mile. I've dealt with individual pharmacist at chain stores that have helped me when BILLY basically dismissed me & my concerns. But, after 6 years of this mess, I was use to having to have my questions answered by pharmacists that weren't my own. But here's my major complaint- This past summer, my baby girl, 6 y/o was dx with 2 different bacteria. Both were common, but it was a rare occurrence for them to be dx at the same time. She needed a specific antibiotic that wasn't readily available bc it was rarely given to children. It was a holiday weekend ( the 4th) Billy, my daughter's pharmacist of 6 years, said that he could order it and have it the next day. I said that's great!!! Oh, but hold up!!! He said he wouldn't be ordering it bc he'd be losing money. A whopping $500.00!!!! He stated that first to the nurse at the doctor's office, but then again to me, when I called to make sure that's really what he said. It's not that I didn't believe the nurse, but when someone has a sick child, and you're in the healthcare business (and yes, I understand it's a business and people have to make a living, ect. ) surely you have some tact and at least CARE enough to be polite and say something like "I just can't get it. I tried and the manufacturer bla bla bla...." But no. He stated clearly and concisely that he would not be ordering it because he wasn't going to lose $500. He didn't give me the choice to even pay the $500. Just said NOPE. After calling every pharmacy in THREE counties, the quickest we could get it was a week, from Walgreens in Pulaski. 7 days my child was sick, sicker and luckily she got her antibiotics before she got the sickest. Yes, $500.00 is a lot of money, but, though I've never seen Jones' account books, I can say with a high amount of certainty, that they aren't operating in the red. And if they are, GOOD!!!! Since then, every time I've tried to get a prescription filled there, something happens. They don't have it. The doctor never sent the order (he did) or the insurance company needs this (they don't). At one point, my husband needed his insulin. He was OUT. Had none. But their systems were down. Could they transfer his script somewhere else? No, because of the systems. It was the weekend, so not the best time for your own doctor to be picking up the phone. So he went without insulin for almost 3 full days before they would fill it. The same insulin they've been filling for him for almost 4 years. That they know he's on. Can't give him enough to last until the doctor's office opens. Why would a hometown pharmacy do that with a non scheduled drug??? What, with all the insulin we have running rampant on the streets. There's a few good people that work there that I really hope get away from that place before they turn into the kind of people they work for. Because once I told Billy I had recorded our phone call that day, the hometown vibe, which wasn't there to begin with, well, it was really gone. By the way, if anyone without insurance gets their meds there, try Walmart. They take coupons. Once I moved my 2 non covered scripts to Walmart and could use Good Rx coupons, I've been saving close to $50 a month. Not sure why our good ol hometown pharmacy can't take coupons. Must be that "operating in the red" situation I hope they're in. Again, I get that it's a business and they can't do things for free. But at least try to use your customer service voice with an anxious and stressed out mom, instead of your " I don't care because your kid's on medicaid" voice. It should just be your SOP. And today was our last fiasco with that place. I'm done. I'll drive to Pulaski once instead of Jones' 3 times trying to get them to DO THEIR JOB. Y'all HAVE 1 JOB AND CANT EVEN DO THAT! 乁( •_• )ㄏ"
