"I have been here twice. The first time I had southern style lunch and it was pretty good. The second time I had a gyro and it was fair, just fair. Nothing special and certainly not the best gyro I have ever had. The other person with me had chicken and the seasoning was not to either of our liking. The ckicken smelled ok, but not particularly drawing."

"I tried again, this time for dinner. The dinner menu is based on Mediterranean cuisine and lists many vegetarian options (I believe some if not lost are vegan). The waiter was very attentive and helpful. The Falafel plate came with a good portion of tahini that was thick, a simple and very fresh green salad, tasty french fries, and plenty of pita bread. The Falafel was freshly made and wonderfully crispy, alas, two of th six falafels were undercooked. All in all a good choice for Mediterranean food in Hoover but nothing that would justify a trip into the burbs. 2018 Review: I am on the fence with my rating. I went for lunch but ended up ordering from the breakfast menu. The hash browns and eggs were very well prepared, the waitress professional, the view nice, and the interior design gives it a classic feel. Why not more stars? I saw the name Makarios and immediately dreamed of grape leaves, eggplant rolls, and falafel. I was hoping for a nice variety of Mediterranean dishes but instead arrived in a Meat and 3. Nothing wrong with that southern standard but the vegetarian option was limited to a 4 veggie plate and it takes a while before I trust such place to cook without the ham bone."

"What an amazing find right here in my own back yard. Took my wife and we had an amazing lunch. I had the lamb Shawarma and it was amazing. My wife had the vegetable potato and it was large enough to feed two. The atmosphere was charming and the wait staff was so very pleasant and helpful with suggestions. They offer breakfast so we have already agreed we want to come back sometime and try that as well. So glad we stopped in and will be looking forward to when we can return. Please give them a try there’s something for everyone."

"Kibbah and Falafel were delicious! Also got lamb shawarma, and kids burger was the best our son has had in a while! Other son got the club sandwich. Plenty of food at a great price. Also great, friendly service."
