Reviews of Rainbow Reservoir Park
"We have been coming up north to the Rainbows Flowage since 1959. It's beautiful!"
"Very nice picnic area overlooking the river. Only one picnic table and nowhere to cook over a fire. Overall good stop on your way to your destination."
"This tiny park is quiet and unassuming, adjacent to a reservoir dam that sits astride the Wisconsin River, at the southwestern end of the Rainbow Flowage. Southwest of County Highway D: driving past the main parking lot you will find a separate lot for handicap parking. From that lot a level path leads to the observation pier. A portable toilet is usually available. Northeast of County Highway D: you'll find a boat launch on the Rainbow Flowage, pier, picnic tables, and a single vault toilet. I've been visiting this spot with family since the 1970's. We usually grab some coffee and pastries from the St. Germain Bake Shoppe along the way. I've spotted many a bald eagle and various fishermen around the reservoir, both species in their natural habitat. The park is maintained by the privately owned Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company, which provides chartered and regulated care of the Wisconsin River."
"Great view and just a relaxing place."
"My dad and I went out for a random drive through Wisconsin. One of my favorite things to do is to look at the Google Maps satellite view as we are driving and to investigate things that look interesting from above. I ran across this reservoir and saw that there was also a dam there. Being fans of the engineering it takes to create dams we decided to check it out. The scenery was gorgeous and the dam, while smaller than expected, still impressive."
