Elder’s Tacos & Steak’s

"My husband and I came here to eat, (drove 45 minutes just to eat here)we sat for 10 minutes, no one even took our drink order. Another couple came in they were waited on immediately. A group of 10 or more came in and was waited on immediately, so we just got up and left, no one even asked us anything as we exited the door."

"Finally got to go to the new Mexican restaurant in town and I was very surprised and happy with the food, service and the friendliness of everyone there! First the food! It was spot on!!! I had seen ads for the place and it all looked great but looks can be deceiving. Believe me it lived up to and surpassed what I'd expected. I had the Torta, it's a sandwich on a bun but not a burger bun... different, never had it before so I can't name it, just delicious. Mine was filled with steak and Mexican sausage with grilled onions and peppers and cheese with mayo. It was so good I got an extra one to go for supper. Best new sandwich I had in forever! The staff were friendly and helpful, they knew the menu and can help with the newer items on the menu. There are several things I want to try that I haven't eaten before so I'll let you know more later. Great restaurant, great food, other places better up there game."

"This place is hands down the best authentic Mexican food around!!!! I’ve had a few things there and everything has so much flavor and you can tell ingredients are so fresh!!!! The Birria Tacos are probably one of the best things I’ve ever ate in my life!!! The green Chile Verde sauce? I want to take a container of it home every time I’ve went! Desserts are amazing as well. The service is very quick and friendly. I’ll will definitely be back as much as I can go!!!"

"Stopping through on our way down to FL. This place is cozy & has limited options, which is a good thing if you’re like me and have trouble choosing something! The service was quick & attentive. I had the steak quesadilla. It just came meat, cheese, bread—no extras! I usually get a little lettuce & tomatoes on the side so I was a bit disappointed in the presentation. My partner got a torta & it was pretty good! I like that they have fun things to buy around the counter. I bought a lil pack of gum which was delicious. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing. A nice place to stop, grab some easy food, and hit the road again."

Just passing through Hamilton, AL, we picked this place to stop because of another review where everyone was smiling and looked happy to be here! 6 of us dropped in and we each had a different dish and everyone raved about theirs. The owners, Elder and Nancy are hands on, putting dishes together and talking to patrons. They take great pride in everything they have to offer. If you live here in Hamilton, or if you are passing through, it's definitely worth the stop."
