"My below post was made a long time ago, I drove past the place today and it is still as bad as the day I wrote the post. How does this place stay in business, they have a sign “Under New Management” but the windows, door, and around the outside of the building is nasty !!! Yet they stay in business, who in their right mind would eat there, if it’s that dirty/nasty where you can see it what about where you can’t. Do we not have food inspectors in Monroe County Mississippi ? If we do they should be fired !!!! I wish I had looked at the reviews before I went to Hunan Chinese. I used to go by there before the pandemic and they were a good place but what I saw on this trip was not good. The place is not clean, not clean in the area you can see so you know what you can’t see is worse. Then when leaving I drove around back, the smell is horrible and you can see the area is nasty. I’m certainly not going to eat food from a place like this. Don’t take my word for it, look for yourself and you will see what I’m saying."
"This place was great until the last few months since new owners have bought it. My son said they had the best coconut shrimp and some of the best Sushi he had ever had. The sushi was the only thing that sat them apart from other Chinese places! Well now they have removed the Sushi and coconut shrimp as well as the salad bar. Not sure what's going on but your buffett is awful since new owners...the only reason we came was because yall had good sushi and now you have taken that away...your soups are barely warm to be polite about it..the little crunchy things you put in your soup are so stale they are cold and chewy not crunchy at all..when I asked for a fresh batch so I could eat my soup they guy acted like it was an act of Congress and he told me no...they were not cooking anymore that night...so I went back a second time and said look sir I will pay for a fresh order of the little crunchy pieces if I have to just so I can eat my soup...I can't even eat the soup because the little crunchy pieces are very old and stale...then he was like OK I guess I can get you an order if you pay... Alot of people are upset yall removed the salad bar as well. People are all over social media talking about this. All of us agree that we won't be back until you put the sushi back and start keeping the soup hot not luke warm and fresher food to eat....I also noticed yall took the coconut shrimp off the bar as well. Yall will be out of business before to long if you keep doing what you are doing. Until you fix all this we will go to China capital in Tupelo. Their buffett is ALWAYS fresh...soup is steaming hot, and the little crunchy pieces are always freshly fried and crunchy like they are suppossed to be. The best Chinese around is magic wok in the mall as well. They have been consistent for years upon years. The food is phenominal. The only thing is they don't have the soups. What set yall apart was yall had sushi. I guarantee your business is gonna be declining until you fix these issues. And OH my gosh let's not talk about the remodeling that needs to be done to the place. It's VERY VERY rageddy and worn out...the bathrooms look like something from a horror movie...the windows are ALWAYS filthy and nasty...I bet they haven't been cleaned in 10 years, the both and tables are all worn out...they have tape over the booth seats where they are so old they have busted open so someone just put tape over them. The outside is badly in need of new paint, new signs, etc. You can tell it has not ever been renewed since the restuaraunt opened up in 1929(kidding I don't know when they opened but you get my drift) Yall are new owners. So do a complete remodel outside and inside. Put the dang sushi bar back. Keep the big thick eggrolls on the bar hot and ready. That was another thing I forgot about that set yall apart was the previous owners had THE best very very thick eggrolls at all times, keep you egg soup and hot and sour soup steaming hot...if your heating elements are worn out replace them...Noone wants cold soup and the little crispy things we put in our soup need to be cooked fresh throughout the day and NIGHT. just because I come into your place an hour or 2 before closing doesn't mean my food shouldn't be hot and fresh. My money is still good and the same in your cash register....I expect my food to be steaming hot and fresh crunchy chips. Put the coconut shrimp back out to. If you take responsibility for all these things as new owners and put some heart into it. You would get tons more of us customers...the place would be full all the time. So do you wanna keep it ran down and keep taking stuff off the buffett that we love or put some heart into it and fix all these issues and have 3 or 4 times the money coming in?"
"Good Food. Great Discount Coupon on the take out menu..."
"Hunan in Amory was a pretty good restaurant at one time. Now it is filthy. The window sills are filthy . Food on the carpet. Empty boxes and trash near the checkout. The door to go in and out the kitchen very nasty. We ate buffet. Some of the dishes cold. Had to ask for some dishes to be filled again, they were empty. Checkout was a nightmare . The guy at the register dropped my fortune cookie on the floor, picked it up and gave it back to me. I asked for another. He put that one back in the box with the others and gave me another one out of that box. I threw both in the garbage and he went off on me screaming and pointing his finger in my face for me to leave his restaurant. Needless to say we will not return. I do not recommend this place to anyone."
"I ordered shrimp fried rice with general chicken. It literally had 3 baby shrimp in the whole dish. I got 2 small crab Rangoon, no egg roll, and egg drop soup with literally no egg. What has happened to this great place to eat?!?!?"
