"Nice campground host almost never around saw her twice the three days we were there. Stayed September 12-15. Fire ring was full of trash and cans when we got there. Good stay the people were very friendly and it’s a great central location to explore the norther tip of the u.p."

"Not a bad place to stay overall. Close to a lot of historic sites to explore and the place is pretty quiet. Little to no shade on the modern sites and the mosquitoes are hungry."

"Stayed here a few nights recently and really enjoyed it for the most part. Beautiful view of the lake with plenty of beach space and playground for my kids to play. The rates are fantastic for full hookups too. Downsides were the bathroom was a little rough. Clogged toilet and water all over the floor from the toilet. I have a pop up with no bathroom. Was like that every time I went that day. One night, the other side of the campground from where my site was was very loud well past midnight. I felt bad for the tent campers near it. They seemed to have a lot of people there that were not staying at the campground as cars were leaving throughout the evening. Not sure how regulated quiet hours are but there seemed to be no campsite host checking on things."

"Great place. Park host Shirley was fantastic. She was very visible. Restrooms were well maintained. One negative, the hot water heaters were small and hot water would run out for showers. As there are no sewer hookups at this location (there is a dump station), having hot water at the showers is important to us"
