"Ryan and Justin worked very hard to refinish our basement and it is beautiful! After suffering high water tables issues in 2018, the carpet flooring and paneled walls of our basement had to be destroyed in order to properly waterproof the cement foundation of our home. We reached out to several of the larger remodel companies to help us refinish our basement, but none of them would even send someone out to give us an estimate. Very frustrating!! Now, thankfully in 2022, there is a man named Ryan, also known as the "Handyman of Kalamazoo". We call him our frustration remover!!! Our remodel angel!! He showed up at our house, asked what we wanted done and asked what we wanted our basement to look like when the work was complete. We were almost crying when he said he would do this work for us. We could barely wait for the project to start! Ryan and Justin were extremely professional, very knowledgeable and worked tirelessly when they were here. Their workmanship reflects care and pride in every aspect of our remodel. They installed hard wood flooring, replaced and installed newer lighting fixtures and put up bead board to help complete the walls. Ryan chose wonderful trim and base boards that simply brought everything together. Justin even put caulking into the nail holes so they didn't look like nail holes. Their work was steady, meticulous and speedy, but not rushed! They kept their work areas clean and organized and respected our home and our dog. We could not have had a better experience than this with Ryan and Justin. They are fun too! We do have a long list of other jobs we want completed at our house and will only be calling the Handyman of Kalamazoo to do them. "We had our entire ceiling redone after we found water damage hidden by a drop ceiling just month after buying a house. We got a few quotes from bigger companies and not only was it astronomical, it was impersonal. When Ryan came by to give a quote, we did not feel pressured nor did we get the “salesman” vibe. Ryan is a member of the community… he was genuine about what we needed and what we could do without, at our own discretion. Some businesses will take advantage of people in vulnerable situations, and that is not the case here.
