"After researching several different companies, we decided on going local with MidWest Pools in Grand Blanc, MI. They had an excellent selection to choose from. I thought anyone considering an investment of this size should be aware of the process and have patience. August 2 contractors dug the hole and installed the pool. The crew treated our pool as if they were doing the work in their own back yard, mindful of surrounding areas and thoroughly packing the p-gravel around the edges and under to assure a solid foundation. Water added same day. A week later pump and heater was placed & electric and gas was contracted out. The trench for the gas line split our TV cable line but Steve the Site Project Manager came over and made a temporary fix to get the cable back working until the cable company could come and repair with a more permanent fix. No extra cost was incurred but perhaps for future customers, the line to the house should be clearly identified before digging. Three weeks out Midwest scheduled a contractor to prep and frame the area where the concrete would be poured. A heavy rain delayed the process next step but as I said “patience” they know what they are doing and want the best conditions for successful outcome. The next week they came poured and broomed out the pad surrounding the pool. Was amazed how they worked together all knowing their specific jobs to complete the job quickly and looking great. Then we met Kyle the expert on pool equipment and maintenance. He and his crew came out and cleaned the pool & gave us what they call “Pool School” on what we needed to do to maintain the equipment and the pool water. It was really a lot of material to digest so I suggest that you use your phone to record what he says and ask a lot of questions. MidWest contracted him as well and they picked the perfect person as he is extremely knowledgeable and personable. You know you can count on him whenever you need help. Week 7 the fence was put up by a company Midwest contracted out and the pool looked complete. Week 8-9 the filter was not working correctly and there was sand being pumped into the pool. We texted Kyle and Steve and it was determined that one of the fence posts hit the pool drain line. (It would benefit the fence company if the pool lines were clearly documented on paper or with flag markers so they could avoid this occurrence.) Although it was a cold and rainy day, Steve the Project Manager came out determined where the problem was and dug down and repaired the hole in the pipe. Kyle assured us that the sand running through the lines did not damage the pump or heater equipment. In summary, this is a huge project that is completed using several contract companies. MidWest has selected these contractors carefully and they are all experts in their field. Although there were a couple problems experienced, MidWest was extremely quick to resolve the problems to our satisfaction. One thing that could be improved upon would be communication to us on when the contractors were scheduled to do their tasks. We called the MidWest Pool office to find out when gas, concrete, fence contractors etc. would be doing their job and was informed that each contractor would be reaching out to us individually but we had no clue when or who the contractor was. It is totally understandable that each contractor is working around many customer’s schedules to complete their part but if they could notify MidWest on projected timing and have MidWest be the Main Customer Contact, the pool customer would be more at ease and could work personal schedules around installation plans. Even if contractor plans would have to change MidWest should own that communication with the customer. In closing, MidWest Pools is the right choice for anyone wanting to install an inground pool. From Brian, the Sales Representative to Steve the Site Project Manager to Kyle the pool expert we came away from this experience completely happy with the end result. Can’t wait to open the pool next spring and enjoy!"

"Midwest Pools was prompt and responsive. We got our pool in well ahead of what other companies were quoting. Midwest communicated plans and estimated timelines and lined up all contracts and permits without issue. There was some problems with their concrete contractor which delayed pool opening. Most importantly, it would have been nice to have had a little more practical guidance from the sales person when planning/ordering. As we had not installed a pool before (like most others) we did not plan well for the concrete which required us to have to sub contract additional concrete work on our own ($$$). Still we love our pool and how everything came together."

"My wife and I did a lot of research (not just reading online reviews but researching the Better Business Bureau) before selecting Midwest for our pool project. We were late to the season getting quotes etc in mid June. The staff and vendors have been wonderful to work with. I think some people don’t realize what a big project an in ground pool is. What’s that saying…”You can’t make an omelette with breaking some eggs.” Even with all of the research we did and friends with pools we consulted…we still learned a great deal throughout the process. We of course had setbacks with weather but also had pleasant surprises with how things worked out. Thank you Midwest (and vendor crews) for being so professional, patient and great to work with! We’ve got a lot landscaping projects to get done before we’re ready to post any photos. We didn’t go all out on coping stones and fancy extras but are very happy with the automation and practical decisions we made."

"Brian our salesperson and Brittani our project manager have been great to work with. They return calls and e-mails quickly and are always friendly, professional and helpful. We were quoted install for April/May and our pool went into the ground on April 19. We aren’t completely done with the entire installation process and have not been in the pool yet but we are excited and to this point Midwest has been great to work with."

"Our Leading Edge Fiberglass pool was installed last summer, 2019. The overall length of construction took about 9-10 weeks. We were generally pleased with the service we received during construction. We were thrilled with the outcome of our pool and patio area! There were a few small issues with the concrete in the months that followed...a crack in the concrete right at the pool's edge developed within the first 2 months and when the fasteners for the pool's winter cover were installed the concrete was chipped in several places. We were disheartened to say the least. Mind you we decided to go with stamped concrete and spent a large amount of money just on the pool patio. We let Kyle at Midwest and Francisco from Artistic Concrete know about these problems right away and I was assured these issued would be taken care of in the spring. Fast forward a year...we still love our pool and have found that it is very easy to care for and maintain! However all of the concrete issues are still issues and have recently become bigger! When the pool was opened in the spring the concrete stain was flaking all around the pool edge. That crack that was mentioned earlier...has now split at the bottom of the pool coping and there is a V shaped piece that wiggles and will eventually fall out. The top step into the pool is so slippery that we have had several people fall. One of those falls resulted in a guest spraining their ankle and dislocating a toe. While all of these issues can certainly be fixed, we are extremely disappointed with customer service from both Midwest and Artistic Concrete. We have been more than patient. All issues were reported to both companies last fall, again in May, then again in July and we are now into August with no customer service. We really want to give a good review here because we have completely enjoyed our pool this summer but when you spend 60,000+ on something and can't get people to follow through when there is a problem that is difficult."
