Leisure Laundry

"If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Out of 20 washers there are 15 that are not working. Out of 20 dryers there are 10 that do not work. Don't waste your time OR money at this place. A friend of mine was there on Monday using the largest machine and her clothes were trapped in the machine for 2 hours! The machine would not run its full course and the manager was not on site and came and said that she would call someone to assist. Now they say that they cannot get someone to fix the machines until at least 50% of them are broke - well, last time I looked 15 is MORE than 50% so what is the hold up? Baraga laundromat has brand new machines, so go there! With this being summer and there are a lot of travelers here I'm sure they do not want to waste their vacation time at a laundromat that does not function."

"I only come to the laundromat maybe two times a year to wash my big blankets. Went today & only 3 out of 8 larger washing machines were up & running. I gave up & went across the Bay to Baraga side laundromat. And now that I have, I will never come back. Better machines, better building, open 24 hours & cheaper. IF this place would fix their machines so they were usable, I would consider coming back but they haven't for over 2 years & it doesn't seem to get better. Find some where else unless u are desperate."

"Sign states no laundry started after 8pm. Arrived at 7pm with 1 load to do. Attendant arrived at 8pm and refused to even speak to us (answer us). She turned off all the lights and went in the office. She would then look out at the time left on our dryer and shake her head. Then she stood in the office with her hands over her eyes. Perhaps the signs should state laundry must be completed by 8 instead of started by 8. Not many options around for laundry, but customer service does not exist here. Over half the machines are broken. So glad we only had 1 load. Nasty place with nasty staff."

"We came in a little late, about 7:40. Signs say no laundry started after 8:00, so figured we could get our stuff done and get out, since we started it before then. Lo' and behold, the employee showed up about five minutes after 8, and told us to get out even though our clothes were still in the washers. 'Come back in fifteen minutes when it's done'. Uh...I'm camping up here, and I'm not leaving my clothes and blankets in a locked building, wet from the low-speed spinning washer (seriously, they're still dripping). Not at all friendly. So we're goin to drive all the way to Houghton, likely, just to use the dryer. Maybe they should change the sign to "no laundry started after 7", because a half hour to wash and a half hour to dry is much more reasonable. Also, as many other reviews have said, most of the machines here, washers and dryers, have out of order tags on them. Avoid like a wasp's nest, go somewhere, anywhere else, if you can. Hell, wash your clothes in the lake, it'd be preferable."

"Over half of the machines are broken - washers and dryers. Two of the washers I used leaked all over the floor and there is no attendant, no number to contact, and no way to contain the mess. There are very aggressive notes left all over the walls telling customers what not to do - with always a reminder that you are on camera. Lucky they are the closest laundromat to us - will not be back."
