"I went on a tour of the Oak Hill Cemetery, not only did they tell us about how it was created and how it was expanded. They had people reenacting those who are buried there. The actors all did a wonderful job, it was worth every penny. Next year when they do it I would highly suggest going and seeing them."
"The staffing, went above and beyond their duties to assist us for our needs. Mr.Aaron presented very concerned and Professional. All elements of the process ran very smoothly for my Husband's interment. I was so pleased for the after care, contact that they made.Where statements made and kept their word to check on me afterword.I highly recommend the use of either land mass. God Bless and keep you all.Thank you for the Job well Done."
"Oak Hill Cemetery drips local history. The people buried here helped carve our present-day Pontiac and surrounding communities. They were builders, dreamers, movers, and shakers. The factories in which our families work, the churches, the buildings down town; were all crafted by these courageous folks, who dared to be different. As a lifetime Pontiac native, I visited the cemetery today and found myself spellbound by rich history. It is true, the cemetery is in need of funds for upkeep and maintenance. Pontiac is not the wealthy city it used to be during times of automation, and I do know the cemetery is taking donations to address the repairs needed - especially for the plots/families that left no funds for allotted upkeep. But, if you are a history buff, you should check this place out. YakTown Love forever... Your proud daughter, E Cantu Alegre"
"I traveled all the way from Seattle to pay my respect and Honor the memories of my family. ( the Lehman, Mason family's ) The Cemetery was in TERRIBLE CONDITION... I was extremely disappointed and disheartened. There was NO SIGNS of perpetual care.... Of any kind ! The city and/or the County need to step up and give this resting place for so many the attention and help that it needs. There is NO EXCUSE for this to be so neglected. Tom M. Harrington and family."
"I stopped by this place after visiting my Dad's gravesite nearby. I've driven by this place a million times as a kid but never went it. I decided to check it out. It really has that spooky kind of feeling when you enter. The grass is overgrown and the trees are so low that they hang towards the ground. Its a must see kind of a place and it will give you that weird feeling of the hairs on the back of your neck raising of the hair as you walk around. I decided to take some photos since there were so many cool things going on in this place. Gates that are chained and locked and strange gravesites. Worth a trip on Halloween...maybe not because there are a lot of spiders so dress like your going hiking... and watch where you walk. This place is creepy cool!! I mentioned it to my Mom as she started laughing and told me that my Great Great Grandmother is buried there and other relatives. So.....for sure on my next visit home to Michigan I am going to try to find them. The grounds really could use some TLC. Hope I find their gravesites when I go. And watch out for the homeless people who live in there! Or was I really seeing real people? Who knows."
