Reviews of John Pahl Historical Village
"Nice collection of preserved historic features."
"Named after the famed Allegan County historian John Pahl, and located on the Allegan County Fairgrounds, the village is a one-of-a-kind treat not to be missed! The Historical Society only opens the village twice a year, so mark your calendars for the Michigan Fiber Fest at the end of August, and the Allegan County Fair at the beginning of September. To get past the fairgrounds gate, your normal fair fare will be required, otherwise you're free to tour the grounds of the village. Touring the village is like touring a little secluded piece of Heaven, away from the hustle and bustle of the mega crowds at the fair. Most of the buildings here have been moved from all over Allegan County. The Jewett one-room schoolhouse was transported here piece-by-piece from the Lake Dumont area. The Log Cabin was moved here from the Dorr area. But the Little Log Church had the greatest move of them all - over 1,000 miles, coming here from the Upper Peninsula. You can also tour through an old doctor's office, a blacksmith shop, the old Allegan Town Hall, a train and depot, an 1800s house, an old Cook Gas Station, and a museum full of a conglomeration of different artifacts from all around the county. There's so much to see, do, and learn here, do not miss your chance to visit the village!"
