"This lighthouse is beautiful. I found the paths such an added bonus to really get to enjoy the entire grounds. It invites you to see everything they have to offer, and catch all the views and all the flowers and trees around there. There were nice benches to watch the water and wildlife. We didn't even know this lighthouse was here when we were driving, and decided to swing in for a view and absolutely were drawn in and spent about an hour here. Very impressed. Such a great stop! Don't miss it. Even the ride to this lighthouse has amazing views. The whole ride was the biggest treat of the day when arriving from Paradise to Sault Ste. Marie."
"The lighthouse and grounds are beautiful. We learned a lot about the history and engineering of the light stations. The beach was our favorite part. It was sandy to the water's edge, then rocky. The rocks were so beautiful, a rock hunter's dream. I could spend hours there!"
"This is a really beautiful stop along Lake Superior. A Ojibwe/Bay Mills museum and stairs for the lighthouse seem to be open daily, though a shop is open on certain days only. The park has some trails that lead to the lake with great rockhounding opportunities."
"Absolutely beautiful!! I also loved all the trails that were wheelchair accessible for my dad. The view from the top of the lighthouse was outstanding as well. Such a wonderful place to stop for a picnic."
"Such a cool lighthouse! It has a great little gift shop, a small, self-guided museum, and a super cool staff! While I was there, the worker in the museum area was super friendly. She also answered some of my questions, and was just generally very pleasant to be around! The best part was walking on the rocky beach though! There are SO many cool rocks. Several volcanic and metamorphic rocks were along the coast, which I found weird. Turns out, Lake Superior was actually formed from a molten rift in the continental plates, if some Googling served me well. Beautiful area! I visited in the summer, so I can't speak to how nice it would be in any other area."
