"Thought the tour would be longer and see more of the home. At least we were on the island to see more attractions."
"Super crowded with people and we didn’t go in but it seemed very quaint and pretty views!!"
"Great adventure and places to see!!"
"Historical summer home for the Governor of Michigan. Home has had some real historical visitors, like Harry Truman!"
"If you are on the island on Wednesday, this is a lovely place to visit. The tours are only given June 6 - August 29 on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:30, so make sure you get in line early. The mansion is a beautiful home to see and the tour is divided into 3 sections and given by locals who have lived on the island for many years. They will share with you the wonderful story of how it was built, the materials it was made of, how it came to be owned by the State of Michigan and much more. It is free of charge and definitely worth the time. Plus at the end you can have your photo taken on the porch with the gorgeous view in the background by one of the Macinac Island Honor Guard Scouts!"
