"My wife and I went to see Gaelynn Lee and Kevin Kling's show at the Open Eye Theatre last week. It was a very cute, sweet, fantastic, musical journey. The theatre itself is a really nice little space. Aesthetically it is kind of magical with it's brick proscenium, and miniature puppetry stages stashed about the common space. The building feels like a relic of the Minneapolis I remember when I first moved here in the early 90s set in the shadow of the freeway."

"This is a super-quirky, fun performance space. I've seen two shows here, both of which were well-suited for the small venue. Only real complaint is that the seats are extremely close together, and they could remove a chair along the wall to make a kind of aisle, which might make it a bit less claustrophobic. Good shows, too."

"Here's the deal with Open Eye: I love it. My kids love it. Everyone loves it. Charmingly weird, fantastically creative, community focused... all of it great. They do a big variety of performances in the space so be mindful of the intended audience (not all stuff is great for kids). We mostly do the kid centric stuff and for real things like Milly and Tillie are just legendary productions in our house. You know how often we say bah nya nah? Every time. Every. Time. In the summer Open Eye hosts shows on Driveway Tour. Perfectly summer and fun and highly recommended."
