"Terrible company. They are extremely rude to employers, which is a shame. Do you want the money from our employee or not? Employers - you are NOT required to fill out employment verification requests for garnishments. So if you get one from Velo Law, I recommend shredding it. Let them pay the court filing fees to find out the employee doesn't work there. Velo Law - answer our questions and be nice on the phone and I'll update my review. We employers are NOT calling for legal advice. Anyone who works there should be ashamed."
"These guys are crooks!!! It's the digital era .. why do they still operate as if snail mail is the best way to do things .. they claim to have a fax machine but you have to formally mail through the post office a written request to speak to the manager?? I received certified mail and called to get more info. Once I received the paperwork and returned it with my financial information so I could set up a payment plan I heard NOTHING. Then a week later they serve my employer with garnishment papers!!! My employer garnished my wages for them and they are STILL TAKING money even tho I have already paid the debt in full!!! When I asked my employer why I was still being garnished they said they had not received the notice from Velo that the debt was paid. So when I called Velo to ask why they were taking more than the original amount they had the AUDACITY to ask me for ANOTHER payment!!!! You gotta be nuts, now I'm waiting for them to cash the checks that they have received over a month ago and send my employer a stop payment and after that Velo is supposed to send me my money back... I bet they robbed me blind and I won't see a penny!!! I will be contacting my attorney promptly if I do not have this rectified in a timely manner... Super suspicious and a poor way to provide a service and run a business. Stay away from these crooks!!!!!! GET WITH THE TIMES, VELO... You are a pathetic excuse for a "legal advisor.""
"This place cost me my job! I had already been making payments towards my debt and then they sent a summons to my job. Talk about embarrassing! Then threatened my employer with penalties if they didn’t follow suit with their demands of garnishment. I understand that the debt is my fault at the end of the day, but have some decency. Now I have currently have no way to pay them back because my job let me go. No one won and most of all them! Extremely predatory practices. When I tried to contact them about it, I would’ve been better off talking to a machine as no one was helpful and couldn’t tell me anything."
"Calling them on any information is impossible. For one they don't listen, another thing they "record" but couldn't provide me with a transcript of said conversation. They claimed I was swearing at them and whatnot. I did not. I sent written request about this, and to send me an invoice. They got it since I sent it certified mail. I never received anything from them. I mean if they have nothing to hide, why did I not receive the information I requested and know that they received the request."
"I received a garnishment from this law office for a medical bill from 2014. A medical bill I had no copy of, nothing that was on my credit score and with information that didn't match that time. When I asked for an invoice pertaining to the amount I was being told I owed I was told I would have to send in a request in writing. After the first garnishment came out I called to pay off the remaining, was informed they received the garnishments by check in the mail and it could take a week. During that week I'd still accrue fee's and interest. I could pay off the total or make a partial payment but they couldn't tell me the total of fee's or interest that would accrue. I will still be garnished for those fee's until the garnishment payment arrives and is processed. When I asked how a medical bill from 2014 can still be active and garnished against I was informed if I wanted to dispute I'd need to do so in writing. Clearly I'm trying to pay, I am just really confused and wanted information. These people are not friendly. They are not helpful. They do not care about people. I understand their job is to collect debt but in the end, we are still people and we are still owed respect. I wasn't asking legal advice. I wasn't asking for personal information. I was just asking how the law worked because as far as I knew there was a statue of limitations. But maybe I was wrong. I didn't say anything about disputing. I just wanted information. But every time I have called and tried to talk to someone or get any information I am met with a cold and rude person."
