Mi-Sci’s IMAX® Dome Theatre

Located at 5020 John R Street in Detroit, Michigan, the Mi-Sci’s IMAX® Dome Theatre is a state-of-the-art movie theater that offers an immersive experience like no other. Featuring 239 brand-new, custom-designed seats with FreeFormTM Trim technology donated by Magna, this theater is the largest in the state with a three-story-high dome and a powerful 13,000-watt Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound system.

In addition to the IMAX® Dome Theatre, the Michigan Science Center also offers the Toyota Engineering 4D Theater, which boasts a state-of-the-art HD projection system with 3D viewing capabilities. The theater provides enhanced space and lighting for a more immersive experience, as well as universally designed videos for 4D theaters.

At Mi-Sci, guests can enjoy live, interactive shows that make science fun and engaging. The institution's mission is to inspire curious minds of all ages to discover, explore, and appreciate science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in a creative and dynamic learning environment.
