"Super frustrating experience. I sopped in while I was on a long drive and I ran in for what I thought would be a quick in & out to grab a couple things. First, for a little store in a small town, it did seem to have a good selection of stuff. I was pleasantly surprised by that. But when I grabbed my two items & headed to the counter, another women stepped in and got there first. She and I were the only customers in the store. So this other customer was a pain ITA and was retuning stuff and was confusing so it took a while, but I recognize that this is not the store’s fault. But then after checking out, this other customer stood there and chatted with the cashier for almost 10 minute, while I just stood there waiting. I am not exaggerating, I knew what time it was when I got to the store and when I left and I honestly stood there, being ignored, while listening to 9 and a half minutes of small town gossip. It was just on and on with “oh have you seen Susan” and “I need her to blah blah blah.” They both saw me standing there and just kept going. I honestly thought the cameras were going yo come out and I would be on some practical joke show. Typically I’d say something, but it kept sounding like they were done so I got read to step forward, and then they’d dive into another lengthy discussion about this or that. I stood there so long my legs started getting tired. Finally I just had to shed this experience from my life so I set my items down and left. As I was walking out the door, I heard them say “oh sorry” and then the other customer quickly left after me and drove away. So, certainly not the end of the world. But yet I find myself begging the retail gods for answers as to why they took this 10 minutes of my life away and offered me in exchange this most absurd situation."
