The State Bank

"I have not had a good experience with this bank and will be leaving it. They cashed one of my checks twice and recently I put cash in my checking account. They put it in another person’s account. Then I called to get it fixed they put it in the account and now it’s back out of the account. I do not believe they can be trusted with with your money at all!"

"Im so tired of having difficulties with the State Bank following up on approving checks, new direct deposit for new work, freezing my cards for subscriptions Ive already paid for, ect. The website is incredibly dated and crashes, and the support is often difficult to follow or will straight up not help. Theres a couple of workers that have been here for a while that try their best, but when you're working with other people's money you HAVE to be on top of these things. State Bank is not."

"I am going to drive an hour there and an hour back tomorrow just to close my account. Mobile deposit is basically useless, and since I have moved away from Fenton it is impossible to bank with them at all. The app barely works, I can't get it to send push notifications no matter what, the quick balance has never worked for me, and getting a hold of their customer service takes upwards of an hour, and that's when they actually transfer you and don't just hang up. Just bank somewhere else, trust me"

"This bank is terrible if you travel abroad or wish to use a pay portal in the U.K. (A top rated and secure one at that). I have to jump through hoops and eventually talk to someone from the Fraud and security side of things. The funny part is, the customer service person who ended up approving the transaction wasn't even located in the U.S."

"DO NOT USE THEIR ATMS. I signed a dispute form on the 21st because one of their ATM broke on me and took $180 cash and didn’t give it back. First lady told me it shouldn’t take 7-10 business days, second lady said 7-10 days, on the 7th day I was then told I would get it in a day or two and didn’t. Lastly, I called today and got hung up on and had to call again just for them to say it could take up till June 5th to get my money back. This is absolutely ridiculous and not okay at all. I shouldn’t have to wait 2 weeks just to get MY money back because THEIR machine malfunctioned. And the fact that multiple people told me different things shows how bad their customer service is. I am so frustrated and disappointed. Will never use an ATM again. And will never go to this bank again."
