"My dad stays here and he pays rent on time and early the management is rude when he tells them something needs to be fixed it’s alway on back order or they act like they don’t get the notice he sends and when he calls the office they tell you they will get it fixed and never do!"
"This place has made a lot of improvements. However, the heating and cooling needs updating. There's no vents in any of the rooms. Just one big old heater and cooling systems in the dining area. Also, during the summer, the gnats are horrendous and so are the roaches! The roaches are taking over. The roaches be on the cabinets, bathroom and everywhere else. The roaches are horrendous and they are about to increase the rent. DON'T MOVE IN HERE."
"Lived here 7 years, love it very comfortable but need more security.and help check on seniors."
"Have never paid rent late or created a disturbance at Bowin Place in the 9 years and 5 months I've lived here. Have disagreed with several management practices but have done so in accordance with its complaint process, with none of the drama. Today, however, I'm feeling like raising the bar on complaining. Someone at HUD needs to know that the $990 we pay for low-income housing through Rose Community Management (RCM) is a misuse of taxpayers dollars. The experience is drastically different from regular renting and I cannot understand why. HUD has regulations that the landlord should follow, but Rose Community in its brazeness disregards all practices that their renters would receive in a regular situation. Take maintenance for example: RCM answers maintenance requests--but the renter never knows when or who is coming. RCM asks if the maintenance person can enter if no one is home. Those of us who have lived here for some time know it is best to answer "no": belongings are missed, repairs are incomplete, doors are left unlocked. Recently I made two requests to have the door lock repaired. The maintenance order was written up as completed-- written that the repair had been made on the hinges. There was never a problem with the hinges and the lock has not been repaired because supposedly the entire door will be replaced. Was told that 3 months ago yet door locks appears on the list of repairs considered to be an emergency. In view of the lack of security in this building, uncertified and untrained outsourced staff who may or may not show up to work, the door lock situation is important. All kind of vargrants come into the building to sleep in the laundry rooms or stairwells. But worst than that is the inspection notices that are frequent and that come with less than a 15-hour notice. They are stuck in the door after 5:30 pm with the inspection to occur at 9:00 the next morning. And if that's not bad enough--I can't tell you how many times I have re- arranged my personal business to accommodate the so-called necessary inspections only to have no one come. Think I will turn my complaint into a non-fiction tell-all book and a YouTube video warning people that this "ain't the answer" to rising costs. Got stories far worst than these two examples. In summary, renting here makes you the enemy. Requesting services, which is one of the chief reasons people rent, makes you guilty of imposing on staff time and subject to "the punishment". You get ignored, intentionally; dismissed. If you are looking for someplace to rent long term, keep looking."
"Please get that black lady with them moles hanging off her face out the lobby. Everytime and I do mean everytime, I do a visit with my client(s) she is in the lobby. Acting like she owns the place. I have been to many apartment buildings, but none like this. Where the lobby is allowed to be used as a gathering place and residents can block the entrance and hallway. NOTE: People like her, will keep the value of a property low. It's useless to renovate a building, if you're going to continue to let people loiter in it."
