Great Oaks Apartments 940 Oakwood Drive, Rochester, MI 48307

"Horrible exerience with this apartment complex. They don't offer any veteran discounts which I find highly disrespectful. They're ungrateful of people who serve in the military and the sacrifices they make for this country. If you move here, expect your rent to increase up to $75. My rent has gone up every single year, and this year it has jumped up $75. They have saved money from my being here 4 years. The appliances have not been upgraded, things are falling apart. If they come into my unit and upgrade things, I'd be more understanding of the raise. The Rochester place apartments across the street have refurbished units with stainless steel appliances and hardwood floors for $1200 and with a washer and dryer inside the unit! I had a tour there a month ago. My unit has the ugly old white appliances with carpet, no attached microwave and no washer and dryer in the unit. And I'm spending $1250 now?? I would much rather spend $1200 there instead. The basement has not been tested for mold. Even though there are leaks constantly happening in the basement, and the floor looks like it could be growing mold. They have upped the cost of the washing machine. It's now $4.25 to do a load of laundry. The dyer is old as hell and needs to be replaced. The clothes are coming out damp, and not dry. No one comes down to take out the trash so the trash overflows. The building only gets cleaned maybe once a month. Please look else wear to live. The surrounding area is what makes it hard to leave, but it's just not worth the price to live here. Note to the owner: don't reply if you're just going to give a generic response that doesn't solve anything. Thank you."

"If I could leave a 0 star I would! The amount of problems I’ve encountered with this property is more than ridiculous. To start off when I moved into my space it was not properly cleaned. The toilets both had HORRIBLE water stain. My sons bedroom door would get stuck. The master bedroom closet self was broke and hanging. Dents all in the closet doors in the living room space. This was all in January of 2022. It is now March 2023 and the door is just now being fixed in February 2023 for my sons room. The closet shelf still hasn’t been fixed either. They have yet to send out a cleaning crew for my toilets that look like public restrooms! I contacted corporate about these things not being done and her response is it’s not their responsibility to make sure the toilets get cleaned… Whose responsibility is it then?! It’s totally unacceptable the way they handle business. If I were to leave this apartment dirty they would charge me a cleaning fee. This company is ridiculous. Any time I call for maintenance to come they take weeks or say the supervisor is busy.. There are atleast 2 other maintenance men what does the supervisor have to do with sending the other maintenance men out? Emergency maintenance will say that you don’t have an emergency when it is an emergency. I have a newborn baby and my kitchen hot water isn’t coming out they told me they’re unable to come until Monday morning it’s now Friday night after they messed up the water trying to install a new dishwasher. He basically told me to wash my dishes in the bathroom. How DISGUSTING and UNSANITARY! Especially for me with a newborn baby. This really made me fed up. I think he really just didn’t want to come because of the snow storm if we’re being honest. They had to remodel the master bedroom bathroom because of a leak in someone’s home below me. That took over a month to get done and I got no discount even though I pay for two bathrooms and was only able to use one! Overall next year I will not be renewing my lease and I shouldn’t have renewed it this year and wouldn’t have if my son’s nursery room wasn’t done. Lesson learned! I’ll take my money somewhere that will address my concerns and fix problems in a timely manner. If you’re looking to waste your money this is the perfect place for you."

"They have good management and mainence se4v8ce. Mail boxes are in your building. The apartments are very spacious. They are old but well maintained."

"There is always something wrong with the basement. It constantly leaks. I'm constantly calling the front office for maintenance. It's ridiculous. There needs to be a long term solution to this, I shouldn't have to keep constantly calling to fix these leaks. It causes the floor to rot, who knows if there is mold. There are times when the water lands on the water heater and the whole building loses their hot water. They need to come fix this basement. They keep increasing the rent but they aren't using the extra money they're charging to better the inside of these buildings. This can't be healthy."

"I've lived in many apartment complex's and I have to say, I haven't felt more comfortable or at home, than I do now. The maintenance guys are always willing to help with any concerns I have, no matter what time of day or night. Thank you Jordan, Chuck, Jesse and Ed, for making a single girl feel safe and secure in her apartment. You guys are awesome! The ladies in the office, Bridgette and Mamie, hardest working women at any complex I have ever lived in. Seriously wonderful people! Thank you girls for all of your help this past year. I'm looking forward to many more! If you are thinking about renting an apartment or townhouse, don't hesitate! You will love it here!!"
